Yes Baofeng, my daughter plays with my radios and sometimes they don't come back from her friends homes so I need cheap radios.

After doing a mountain drive with a friend I can see the real need to update to something better, maybe even permanently mounted.

I have a few UV5r ham radios around for just that reason, people know not to touch my Icom and Kenwood radios LOL

We use cheap Midland radios. lol

Xtrusion Overland is telling us that it will be at least another 2 months before they START shipping the side panels for the XO-Skltn system. I needed some way to secure my stuff in the bed of my truck so I made a temporary tonneau cover to put on mine. It isn't water tight but should provide a level of security.

In preparation for the XO.SKLTN rack panels to arrive I installed a USB port behind my mirror for the rearview dashcam I will be installing. There is no windows for the topper so I will need to swap to a digital rear view and I thought this would be a convenient way to have power for the mirror.

I made a drive to central Oregon in August. This truck is very nice to travel in. I did a tour of some ghost towns in north central part of the state. It was smoky from all of the forest fires but was a good trip.

After waiting 17 months for Xtrusion Overland to provide the parts for my topper I requested a refund and ordered a Dirtbox Overland topper. I received it in 3 weeks. I could not be happier.

Today I went on a local trail just to get out and get above the fog.

On the above mentioned trip I found that the topper had slid forward and touched my cab. No damage but I wanted to make sure this could never happen again.

I bought some 1-1/2" aluminum angle from Home Depot and drilled some mounting holes and used some t-nuts I had leftover from a Xtrusion Overland project and I was able to bolt in a "stop" to prevent it from sliding forward past new bracket.

I wanted to mount my shovel on the inside of the door but I could not afford the price of the Dirtbox Overland molle panels so I mocked up a bracket in AutoCAD and sent it to my 3D printer. We will see how it holds up.
