Yes Baofeng, my daughter plays with my radios and sometimes they don't come back from her friends homes so I need cheap radios.
After doing a mountain drive with a friend I can see the real need to update to something better, maybe even permanently mounted.
We use cheap Midland radios. lolI have a few UV5r ham radios around for just that reason, people know not to touch my Icom and Kenwood radios LOL

I used to be in Oregon, I lived in Sherwood up until December, now in San Diego. I have nothing else to contribute, I always seem to need to chime in when people say they're in Oregon lol.I am in the Eugene area.
That’s a desktop wallpaper shot right there buddyI made a drive to central Oregon in August. This truck is very nice to travel in. I did a tour of some ghost towns in north central part of the state. It was smoky from all of the forest fires but was a good trip.
