Well it came in the mail today, took a whole 5 minutes to pop the factory one apart and put this one on. Bang for the buck, might be the best mod I have done. I did you both springs.

Builds boost earlier/easier, releases immediately, holds boost longer. Turbo noise is slightly more pronounced as well. The off, on throttle is much better as expected. However the over all throttle response was much improved and I did not expect that. Its more linear with a stronger pull in the mid range.

I highly doubt it added much power on the top end, but the midrange has a noticeable improvement. Just feels like it moves with more authority.

Figured I would share my $0.25 on the topic. I do have a boost gauge and can confirm I go into boost quicker and earlier.

I am so impatient, I took the day off work and was doing some house projects. The second this arrived I stopped mid cut, threw it on and drove around. Finished the cabinets but still, truck stuff more better. Get on it.

I installed mine today as well. I am tedious as crap, so it took me longer than 5 minutes. I was trying like crazy not to damage the original as the directions suggested, and although I noticed it starting to crack as I was removing it, I think it is still reusable if needed.
I was also not sure I was assembling the new one correctly. Everything seemed ok, but I was afraid the plunger that you were supposed to oil was going to fall out as you inverted it to install it. The provided illustrations were not very visually accurate. But it seemed to be fine.
I also didn't know the supplied screws were Torx. All I had was screwdriver type Torx, so I just hand tightened the after they bottomed out.
I haven't driven it yet, but I started it in the driveway and revved it and put it in gear and power braked it a couple of time just to see if it would throw a CEL. It didn't. I will be driving it tomorrow for about 100 miles or so, we'll see!
Edit: so all the pictures show the bottom of the plunger on the engine side to be solid red. Mine was all metal with a blue O-ring.

Went non wooshy. But I still get more prominent turbo spooling sounds. Just did a 2.5 hour drive. Its a huge difference.

Interesting. I just drove Oppie for over 1.5 hours today and didn't notice any difference in sound. I didn't do any full throttle runs through. I am not sure I am noticing any difference at all yet. I am still curious why the plunger bottom on mine looks completely different from all the pics I find.

Mine was gold/brass looking and had a rubber base. I didn’t floor it yet myself. This was really noticeable on the long drive. Bumping cruise control off coming up to a stop light and then clicking resume when it turned green. Without stopping. The 50-70 pull was a huge improvement.

Did you install both springs? I do have a boost gauge too so I am able to see the difference as well.

I installed everything according to the instructions. Nothing left over but the original parts removed.
All the pics I see are a brassish looking plunger with a solid red base/gasket at the bottom. Mine was all brassish looking except for a blue o-ring around the base.

So you didn’t have the red thing at the bottom? That is what causes the seal to he better than stock really. If its missing I would reach out to GFB. Because there is a real difference. I noticed it immediately even around town.

That's what baffling me, there is the blue o-ring, but is it sealing like the red gasket is supposed to. Is it an improvement or an old unit. The kit came with two springs, a bigger fat one for under the bigger plunger, and a longer skinnier one for inside.
I have a question in to tech support, but of course it's the weekend. I am tempted to take it out and take a pic. Just imagine

Hopefully they take care of you. Where did you buy it? I know they said a lot of counterfeit ones were floating around. They are made china and are sold on Alibaba as well. But they are not “legit”. Maybe the red thing is installed by GFB after the fact.

Ebay, seller Show and Go Performance. The pictures in the listing show the red seal.
