Edit: of course AFTER I make my post I find the instructions on mountune's site. None the less.. If you have any tips or helpful advice, please post up.

I'll be hopefully picking up a mountune intercooler this weekend. I've been on the mountune site to look for install instructions and found nothing. They don't even list an intercooler under the Ranger parts section.

It seems pretty straight forward. Take the upper cover, grill and the upper bumper piece off. Unbolt the stock intercooler and replace with the Mountune.

I've read with the cvf you need to remove/trim a few pieces to get it to fit. Is this the case with the Mountune? Anything I should look out for during the install?

The mountune comes with two silicone pipes and the engine side pipe that mounts to the turbo. Is there anything else worth replacing/upgrading while I'm in there?

Will the m6x1x35 bolts I used to install my dv+ work on the mountune pipe?

I've attached a pic from the sellers ad.

Give yourself the better part of an afternoon for the install, or better yet a full day... I referenced the mishimoto instructions installing my ESP intercooler, and it was doable but it takes a bit to get everything fitting correctly. Yours might be easier with the silicone charge pipes.

My one piece of advice tho, watch that sensor for the hood latch... I forgot about mine til the end when i went to put it back together and thought i'd have to pull everything apart to get it back to where i could plug it in... fortunately i was able to get it sorted without much effort regardless of the flood of colorful language coming from me (it was late, dark, and i was tired), but i would zip tie it near where you need it otherwise it can fall down and potentially get stuck beneath some of the shrouds. You'll see what i mean once you get in there.

I've been told there is a good chance I'll break the tabs on the headlights while removing the screws from the stock intercooler. Are the screws that tight? Anything I can do to avoid this?

What are my options if the tabs do break?

(?) The headlamp assemblies are not even touched

I believe you are referring to these tabs - very brittle and easy to break
I suggest watching one of the Headlamp (swap) videos they cover how to remove the parts needed for access, just use it as a reference to gain access to the inner cooler.
Theses tabs are integrated with the grille.

According to the Mountune instructions you take off the driver side headlight.

Step 3 says to remove the two bolts holding the top of the grill to the headlights.

The attached file is directly from their website.

Shouldn't be any need to remove it, i mean you're welcome to but i don't think it benefits you at all. Other kits don't call for that.
