Been following this harsh shifting saga for a couple years now. They finally came out with the fix for my '20 XLT. It is the CDF Drum full meal deal. Just got my trans essentially overhauled. Burnt cylinder rings, loss of hydraulic pressure on test, drum had movement. They also found a hairline crack in my trans pan and replaced that and the heatshield. A number of bolts were seized and they had trouble with them and had to request Ford give them another 1.1 hours of labour. Labour for the TSB was 13.4 hours. Warranty was 7 years, 80,000 km and I brought it in at 4 years, 76,000km. The trucks shifts smooth as silk now. Not quite CVT smooth but I would call it Excellent and well within a reasonable standard of smoothness as you would expect from a new vehicle. I finally enjoy my truck it just took 4 years and constant research to sort out the bugs.

Also got the drive shaft splines greased as well and that took care of the shudder. Mechanic said there was almost no factory (red) lubrication left. I believe Ford has changed it to some type of white grease. I used Shella Rotella Special Duty moly grease. Worked perfect. I thought about getting the Tom Woods one-piece driveshaft but I did the math of the cost to do that or just grease the splines every couple years or so and it was cheaper to go that route. Still haven't had any issues 6 month after they were moly greased.

Next I will do the DPFE sensor and and then adjust the bolt behind the brake pedal to stiffen up the pedal a bit. I think this group of fixes will make this truck great again! Just wanted to share my successes that took so long to find fixes for, so other don't get too discouraged if they are waiting on fixes! This truck is good you just need to get the right fixes.

Glad you got it taken care of. TSB 24-2046 was replaced by TSB 24-2101 about a year ago. TSB 24-2101 has now been replaced by TSB 25-2024. Interesting that they used an old TSB for the fix.

Before doing anything to the brake pedal, I would bleed all four wheel cylinders. Some have done this, and the brake pedal was much higher and firmer after the bleed.

This, I had the dealer do it under warranty early on.
