25-26 is great mileage for a 4x4. I get 21-23 typically, with the very occasional 24ish on trips. But, that's typically well above the posted speed limits :)

Premium will make a difference in the mpg about a trade off with its higher cost probably. I always use alcohol free premium. If I stay at 65-70, I can get around the 25 mpg. Then my wife gets made that everyone is passing us, so I kick it up and lose the mpg.

I’m pretty much a speed limit driver. My wife would rather have better mpg/cheaper travels than outrun the competition, so we get along pretty well that way. In other words, I do other things that irritate her more. After 52 years, she’s kind of starting to get used to me I think ?

The problem is in Kansas on the turnpike the speed limit is 75 so most people are doing 80 or better so if I try to maintain 70 it is not a good time.

Well, I have learned that no matter how fast I go in the right lane, some idiots are going to pass me in the left lane anyway, so I drive my speed and let them have the left lane. I could be going 120 and some dipstick would try to pass me anyway, so I might as well save a few $$$$.

Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, from every other member on here, me included!!
Some of these fellows make a drug dealer look timid the way they push their favourite mods; I won't name names, but one such fellow may or may not have chosen to personify a certain predatory arachnid native to his former stomping grounds...

Welcome to the forum, and good luck holding onto that wallet!
Well, crap! That didn't take long. I'm one of the lucky Lariat owners who didn't get the engine cover, but I have one on order now. Don't tell the boss. :frown:

Don’t feel bad, nobody’s gotten one in the last few years even Lariat owners

Wait until next week when you really start ordering parts. We won't say anything.

Yes, the tailgate is dampened. I haven’t figured out why that’s such a big deal though. I’m 72 and this is the first truck I’ve owned that has it. I suppose I’ll get used to it. ?
Oh dear, I'm sorry to read that, at your age you really should be trying to maintain your upper body strength.

I see you and I have much in common ! 1 -retired 2- own a ranger 3- A boss that tells you what you can and can't do.?
Nah I did what you did, bought a good second hand one that already had most of the stuff I wanted, already kindly fitted by the previous owner. That saved me a great deal of money in sales tax, and kept me largely immune to predation by certain members of this forum, although I'm not even sure they would ship this far. (and the same or equivalent stuff is already available over here)
