Hey everyone, when I got my used 2019 Ranger, I just assumed the dead pedal location was just terrible. It only really bothers me on longer drives. However, looking at some stock photos I saw that maybe my truck just has one of those used vehicle quirks as it looks like the dead pedal is much more pronounced in those pictures than mine.

Is it just padding normally? I see a bolt above where it is and I am trying to find a good third party foot rest. I see a lot for Wranglers that look like they might work. Just making sure I'm not crazy, or if there is anything in can order from Ford to fix it.

I always assumed it was metal underneath…. Previous owner thought it was a manual. Only a Viper needs that kind of leg press power to press.

Your brake pedal looks like it is very worn and the rubber pad is askew. Looks like the truck was driven hard by the previous owner. The sight of that would have turned me off.

I just noticed the rubber on the brake pedal. How many miles? Have service records or a carfax?

Best part is that I got it with only slightly under 17K miles ? but yes that brake pedal looked like that then also. Truck was from South Carolina and Stolen so I got it as a rebranded title from Auto Savvy dealership that specializes in rebranded vehicles.

Jeep Wranglers don't have dead pedals but need them so there are many aftermarket options for them. You might look on Amazon or similar and see if you can find something that could use that bolt that might not need much modification.

Or maybe carve some wood and stick it under the carpet.

Thanks, I have a few Wrangler ones I am looking at on Amazon. I think I'll try that route.

Something is wrong in there. Photos below are my Ranger and my Jeeps dead pedal. It is a 14 JK. The 18 up attach differently but Jeeps have a terrible set up for the left foot and has no angle, the flat floor goes way back. You may be better figuring out what is wrong as the Jeep dead pedals have a lot of room to work with.

I had a Gladiator and the dead pedal attached to a bolt in a similar position to the one visible on the firewall unlike yours that attached on the side.

I think I'm going to get a nut and tighten it here and just roll with this, already feels a lot better than what I have currently haha.

Da fuq is going on with that brake pedal? Looks like previous owner was a chronic brake slammer. Or maybe it was used as a get-a-way vehicle with brake slams every block. Have you had to replace the brake pads?

Actually I just got my brake pads and rotors from Rock Auto, that's getting replaced next haha and I'm only at 36K miles.
