A solid drive shaft fixes it. The question is, is it solid steel or concrete filled?
Rephrase to "one piece" instead of "solid". There! That fixes it.

Rephrase it any way you like, they aren't making the adapters for the Tremor. It's non Tremor rangers only at this point unless you can come up with a creative way to get around the Rzeppa joint.

I believe there was some discussion about converting the Tremor to the regular CV the Ranger uses then just bolting the TW driveshaft right up but I don't know if anyone actually did it ??‍♂

Ford is actually putting in Tremor driveshaft’s in non Tremors that are having driveshaft issues under warranty. That includes changing the rear differential drive flange to accommodate the Tremor rzeppa joint. Several have posted about that on this forum. But it is correct that if you want to put a TW single driveshaft in a Tremor you just need to change the differential drive flange to the non Tremor style.

I bring news to the Tremors that have been left out of the solid drive shafts. I was able to take mine in to Tom Woods and get a Tremor adapter prototyped. I must say it was a success and I finally solved that God damn shake and squeak at acceleration. I didn't really want to F around with a carrier drop, and this solved it. After I let them know the adapter has worked great, I expect they will have then on the market shortly!

Well since it has been done here and on Tom Woods website he can make one for the Tremor I’d assume there has been an adapter put into production.

Hey everyone, here's where the Tremor Drive Shaft development process has been: I made 1 or 2 custom adapters for people to test the performance of a one piece shaft in the Tremor. Good results so far. But I've personally had to machine the adapters using a manual lathe and drill press which takes a long time, its too cumbersome and time intensive for me so the project has been on the backburner for a long time. I recently learned to use CAD, which opens up the door for me to design the required adapter and outsource the production of the adapters to a more qualified machine shop. Which means that now it is a more realistic thing for us to look at developing. That and I wanted to get some more time and experience in the standard Ranger market, get really confident with the effectiveness of that shaft, before jumping into a more complicated and more niche market that could potentially just be a whole can o worms. The standard Ranger shafts we've been building have been performing very well.

Here's the point of my post: To design the adapter I really need to get my hands on a stock pinion flange, to take measurements and test fit the adapter to. For sells one, but without having a Tremor VIN to lookup I can't verify that this fits the Tremor. If any of you want to contribute to the greater good here you can help me to find the Tremor pinion flange. You can use your VIN to check the flange found here https://dealer.parts.ford.com/shop/...flange-prop-rear-50l-(6-mt)-p-fr3z4851b?gQT=2 Or if that's not it, maybe someone reading this knows where to find one. It might be one of those things that you can't buy because Ford likes to make all their parts captive to them. Who knows? Anyhow, if anyone can verify or find the correct flange for me and email that info to [email protected] I'll buy the flange for R and D, and I'll get back into developing something.

I've very interested in a one piece driveshaft as my tremor has a terrible shake at take off since in had to swap out the carrier bearing. (it went bad within 20k ) of cause I do a lot of off roading so im sure that had a lot to do with it.

So I have a 2020 XLT (Non Tremor) this is what mine was replaced with today under warranty.

If this is what Tremors have, then I guess I am upgrading the hard way. I am still considering a single shaft, my tech suggested it too.

To add: The part number for the flange is MB3Z*4851*L.

Yes that is the tremor joint.. My drive shaft was fine until I had to change the carrier bearing, that really seems to be the true issue. I need to see if I can track down a bearing for that original carrier bearing and try that. that being said did they replace the drive shaft as well or just swap pout the pinion flange and add the tremor joint? I would love to swap over to a one piece Drive shaft I hope they finish this conversion soon if not I will buy the other standard flange and buy the one piece driveshaft for a non tremor.

They replaced the whole thing, I asked about having the old flange back, but they needed it for warranty purposes. So either I go to a custom shop or wait to see what solution Shawn comes up with. I like the eight bolts at the axle, but that carrier is not cool. There is a video in my thread of how bad it was. Even F150's are one piece... sheesh.

that kinds stink you couldn't keep it but it only about 70.00 bucks for the std non termer one. iodine mind the 8 bolts but I think I would rather just have the u-joint to be honest I need to go find the video your talking about my carrier is one piece with the surrounding rubber holding the bearing now Im curious of your is different. Yeah okay mine is the same even the original that I didnt have the shimmy at take off was like that but I never did it... I seems to me to be a durometer issue with the rubber they used. my original seems to be stiffer then the replacement I got. VERY ANNOYING.

I installed the Tom Woods Driveshaft in my 2020 XLT in Oct 2022 with 8K miles on the truck. 17K silky smooth miles later, and nary a hiccup. 25K on the odometer.

I no longer think about it. The best upgrade I have made to my Ranger. Ford dropped the ball on this one.

I realized that my last post was one about still actively trying to develop a shaft for this vehicle and wanted to update everyone. I got a stock pinion flange, hoping that it would be a common spline size that could just be swapped with a more standard flange or yoke. I don't think it can be. At this point we have abandoned this project and are no longer working on developing a shaft for the Ranger Tremor or any other Ranger that has an 8 bolt flange at the rear axle.
