Hello. I recently had my baby ranger jump start. After this jump start, my total mileage went back to zero. My DTE always shows 999 or zero and my turn signal sound is always the sound of a warning sound (like open door). How do i get this all fixed?

You may have to fill your tank before the DTE recalculates, and it may take a couple of tank refills to correct the reading. The sound of the turn signal may return after some time has passed. It may be because of a weak battery.

Total Milage went to zero meaning Odometer? or Fuel Distance?

The DTE is looking at Fuel Level & Odometer for that calculation.

Try scanning for codes and perform a Self-Test Reset on the IPC & BCM.

Pull and check Fuse #13 - On the BCM (Interior Fuse Box) - leave it out for 5 minutes and reinstall.

It is quite possible you have a short on the Turn Signal circuit, hence the reason for a Jump Start, post the codes found when scanned for a deeper check if the fuse is good.

Did not want to alarm you, just possible as far as the short, something POSSIBLY drained the battery or its just showing its age and its POSSIBE both issues are related. (Dead Battery & IPC) issues.

I think there is a code locked into the IPC due to power loss (lost its NVM) and needs reset to clear the error.

The Turn (Signal - Tick-Tock) sound comes from the IPC itself.

So, if the (Odometer) is reading - Zero / ----/ or Error and the DTE is reading (0)
then there is an issue with the IPC or related circuits.
and
Since the IPC provides the sound for the Turn Signal (Tick-Tock) its most likely switching over to the Sync (Audio Speakers) and more than likely a very loud (Fast - Chime) this is the error chime, somethings wrong - check me)

The BCM fuse #13 (interior fuse box) by your left knee, under the pull-down panel is the power feed for the IPC and SSCM (Steering Colum Control Module)
By pulling & inspecting this fuse (for blown) and then wait approx. 5-minutes before reinstalling may also clear the fault.

If you do not have a scan tool - AutoZone Etc. - can scan for codes but it depends on what level of scan tool they use as to if they will pull a (B) Body code or (C) Communication code from the truck.
It's worth a try to see if this simple read and reset will correct the issue.

Wow thanks so much for the detailed explanation. I might do the fuse check first as i think it is the easiest ?

It usually does that when the battery is weak or needs a good recharging.

now that its winter I might start putting it on a trickle charge every few days, I play the radio a lot when the truck is off, if it goes I will put a larger amp hour in it and up the SOC to 80% or 90% in the brain

I just set mine to 95% charge setpoint.
