Still here. lol. I already installed the Fitz stick a few months ago. Have a fluid transfer pump for the job. Waiting on the fluid and filter to arrive. Anyone know the torque specs for the trans bolts?
The filter bolts are 93 in. lbs.

Install the bolts and studbolts in the correct locations noted during removal.
Install the transmission fluid pan and loosely install the bolts and studbolts.
  1. Tighten the studbolts in a crisscross pattern.
    Torque : 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
  2. Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern.
    Torque : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
  3. Install the heatshield and retainers.
    Torque : 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Just get a 15oz. bottle and dump it in. I don't think you can add too much. That's what I did after the flush.
The recommended dose is 1oz per qt, so a 15oz bottle is fine for the first treat. You don't want to go hog wild with it.

After the initial treat, it is just 1oz per quart whenever you change fluid again.

Hello everyone. I am going to change my transmission fluid and filter in a few days.

The manual states the filter is FT215 but the dealer said it is FT202. Is this correct?

Also how many quarts of Mercon ULV is needed?
I think the 202 is just the filter and the 215 has the seal that the filter plugs into. When you look at 202 on rock auto is says filter only no seal. When you order a 202 from O'reilly you get the filter only even though their website says it comes with the seal.

My 215 didn't have the seal either.

The 202 is just an alternate part. They're doing the same thing with oil filters. The FL910S is also a FL-2123-B12. Two different manufacturers, two interchangeable parts.

Now, why didn't they call it a 215-X or some shit, who knows. Ford doing Ford things, make everything complicated.

Did your 215 have a rattle sound if you moved it around like something in the filter. Curious if it is a magnet.

Umm......I don't remember offhand, been a bit. Ford originally designed a thermal flap in them, but then I'd read they dropped it. Now I can't remember if the new filter had it or didn't. I did tear the old one down, pics are up here somewhere, and there is a magnet in there, but it was fixed in place.

Found it, this is the filter that was on the truck when I bought it new, so straight off the line.

No flapper and I can't tell if the magnet was pinned on there or not. It can't really go anywhere and I think that's a plastic pin semi holding it in place. It can probably wiggle on there, probably what you're hearing.

This is what Ford/GM originally planned to do, but it was dropped early on.

I talked to LubeGard support, and the max was 2oz per quart. I am at 18oz right now. Start with the 15oz bottle. It is probably all you will need. My transmission was a mess.
