I grew up in cars and trucks where seat belts were far off dreams, and an air bag was your mother-in-law in the back seat.....

All we need is a Ranger version.

I ain't worried. I owned 3 Pintos from 1977 to 1986. I drove at least 150,000 miles between the 3 of them.

So this must be why the insurance on my Ranger is much higher priced then my wife's Forester.

My insurance is the exactly the same on my '19 as it was on my '07, and I just had personal liability on my '07, full coverage on my '19. I had my agent explain it.

To be honest my 21 Ranger Lariat FX4 felt unstable without the mods I've done to it. First I replaced the rear shocks with Bilsteins which made an improvement in handling. I still felt it needed more so I put on the Hellwig rear swaybar and set it to the stiffest setting and I feel now it removed the body roll and made the cornering alot better. I'm happy with the driveability now but I'm an old grandpa and so it might not be for everyone. I even put a heavier sway bar on my 2010 Subaru Forester when I had it. I need to feel control when cornering and now I have it as it felt sloppy without the mods and to me it could be the cause of some of the issues causing problems.

The ‘22 I have is the strangest handling vehicle I have owned.

Soft at times but suspension seems firm with a lot of body roll.

I drove a 5.0 F-150, 2.7L F-150, and 3.5 and the smaller engine, lighter versions also seem to have some of this (slight) unpredictability.

Maybe it’s the weight distribution, shock setup, or suspension travel, but something about this combo just feels off. The 5.0 F-150 had none of this, even with FX4 off road package.

Funny thing is I never wanted the FX4 package but the dealer sold the Ranger I had a deposit on because the buyer probably paid over the msrp and I wouldn't so they swapped in the FX4 from another dealership they own.

I've owned Pinto's, Corvair's, motorcycles that I ran over 100 mph on the Palmetto Xway in the 60's when I was young and stupid, wearing sneakers, t-shirt, no helmet......

Pickups and SUVs are more prone to rollover accidents than other passenger vehicles. IIRC all three that I've owned had/have a rollover warning in the OM. The high center of gravity is the culprit.
I'd guess driver behavior is the real culprit.
