Well I finally bit the bullet and replaced my OEM battery. The resistance was still good when I desulfated it but the charge would be gone in a couple days if not driven. Wanted to be confident I wouldn't have a problem in the ski area parking lot.

New battery came like this:

Was the state of charge the bad number at 67%?I just got one of these battery testers and want know how to read it correctly. To me looking at that all would be good.

Yes, the 67% was the state of charge. The cold cranking amps and the resistance had great numbers.

Now Im hooking mine up to the battery clamp on Pos. and Neg.Is that good or do you need to untighten the clamps, disconnect, and attach the battery tester?
There is not much room on the positive side but that is how I do it. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get a reading.

You will like them, had mine installed over a year ago as well as the rear shocks. Nice upgrade, just hurt my gas mileage when combined with 32” tires.

Thanks. I installed the rears myself a couple years ago. I’ve only put on a few miles so far but already loving these! Just wish I didn’t wait so long.

I also installed the read myself, but chose to have my mechanic do the fronts.

the Ranger had the 50,000 mile service , oil & filter change with tire
rotation. they were going to change the air filter & cabin filter but told me the filters look good, the filters should be good as I changed them at 30,000 miles. the brakes are at 7 (rear) & 9 (front) and topped off all the fluids plus checked the belts & hoses. battery passed the test so all should be good to go.

Check your tire pressure.
Dealers like to set them at different levels other than what the door sticker says.
