Has anyone installed either the Rough Country or the Ready Lift spacer kits themselves? Looking over the directions, it seems more complicated than I expected. The Ready Lift instructions actually have you removing the brake caliper, rotor, and axle from the knuckle, and loosening the sway bar.

Maybe I'm just used to the McPherson strut setup on my 2013 Explorer and my old 2010 Escape.

Just noticed that as well. I didn't think a spacer install would require to go that far

I think it’s probably just to lessen the risk of popping the CV joint out/apart. I think I’d rather to it that way anyway instead of putting the extra stress on that axle joint.

When I went through my spacer install, my instructions from Daystar had me remove the lower control arm cam bolts. Let the control arm drop down and hang by the lower ball joint. The strut will easily come out and a little magic with a prybar will give you clearance to get it back in, with the spacer. Disrupting the cam bolts didn't bother me too much... they will have to be adjusted to make for the way positive camber, from lifting the ride height.

Hmm Thinking of ordering from www.fordrangerlifts.com
I got 4x2 n am bit confused which kit to go with. The 3" or 2-1/2" , I am not planning to tow a trailer or so.
My objective is to level my Ranger n reduce the rake/nose dive look so members who have got the kit can ya'll please recommend ?
Also is the mod DIY or should I get it done at the shop ?

We would be remiss not to include the new Ford-branded Fox kit. I just plunked down $1,495.00 for this at my Delaware dealer's Parts window yesterday. The sales staff said it will take about two weeks to arrive. Installation is extra, naturally, and will be paid at the time of service. It gives you a two-inch level to the front, meaning there will still be a slight, one-inch forward rake to the vehicle, which is the look I like. I plan to keep the stock 18-inch B.A.P. wheels and the stock Hankook Dynapro ATM tires, at least for the time being. I am hoping the kit will smooth out some of the roughness in the ride and tone down the "Ranger Bounce." I don't go off road much, but the (slightly) improved approach and break over angles will be welcome for rough roads, winter storms, and odd road obstacles. I also decided to go with the Ford kit because it will be installed by Ford, under warranty by Ford, and it will not jeopardize any of the Ford warranties that I signed for at purchase (and pay for every month)! In a word, "Ford"!

Any reason why these won’t adapt to the 2WD model?

Can any certified mechanic install this for warranty purposes?
Only parts would be warrantied if installed at an independent shop and it's kind of a hassle to claim if anything comes up. I highly recommend having the dealer install Ford accessories just to make sure you get full warranty coverage on the job.

I was only curious. I’ll end up installing whatever kit myself. I just figured if the shop had certified mechanics w/ proof and you had a receipt... I’m actually going to the dealer tomorrow and I can ask.

BDS offers a 2” leveling kit that combines a narrow top spacer and preload spacer on each front strut tower. The basic package includes two BDS gas struts for the rear that promises to improve the handling of the rear suspension with an option to upgrade to Fox 2.0 struts (in place of the BDS struts).

How much it will cost to install this type of leveling?
