My ford experience is awesome! 52000 miles and truck is great.
My rotors are warped to hell but because I've towed heavy with no trailer brakes.
A big dent on my tailgate, but I put it there, and that's about it.

I have a similar situation except my pops bought a canyon back in 2016 that my brother bought from him and still has. Replaced it with an identical 2019 canyon but has a different transmission I believe. Both canyons have weird transmission quirks (jumpy and not smooth at low speeds) and the newer one has needed trans fluid replaced 3 times to stay running smooth in 120k miles. My ranger at almost 70k has only had some glitches in the head unit as far as problems go. The canyons are both bone stock, ranger has been on tires 2” bigger diameter than stock for 40k miles.

Edit: Forgot about replacing my u-joint. Not a fan of the carrier bearing 2 piece tail shaft design. Likely weak point working these trucks hard off the pavement.

Life was great at 52K miles...I can still remember the blissful warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy...

It's a shame that our experiences are so polarizing. This tells me, as a layman, that Ford is a merely a QC correction away from being great. If Farley had invested all of his battery factory money into Quality Control then Ford would be uttered in the same sentences as Lexus. There are Ford Trucks out there that will give a Lexus a serious run for its money in terms of dependability and maintenance costs. The problem is it's every odd one, not every one.

It's worth the investment, in my opinion.

This is one step up from coat hangers and duct tape...ironic Ford would come up with this low tech fix...
they are preoccupied with pie in the sky stuff like filing patents for detecting pickups used as drug smuggling mules and steering wheels that double as fast food trays. Wonder if grease oozing into the steering wheel cavity will be covered under warranty.

Welch underpass - in your neck of the woods ? I'm familiar with the phrase "tourist trap" but that underpass appears to be an RV trap.

Ok, in 2019 I purchased two trucks for my family. A Ranger and a GMC Canyon. I drove the Canyon for 8 months and then passed it on to my youngest and bought the Ranger. To date the GMC has had one (other than normal wear and tear) no charge TSB to replace the ATF with full synthetic for smoother shifting and is now at 120K on the ODO. The Ranger has a much more storied maintenance history, Trans TSB, rear brakes and rotors due to an odd wagon spoke wear pattern causing a massive pulsing and shimmy..$300. TSB for water in 2 spark plug wells adding an engine cover which Ford fought me on and charged me $300 for plugs and coils. On the way home from that repair got the same CEL and code...yup..other two spark plugs wells had water...another $300. Ford covered both tows. And now the backup camera is failing intermittently. Oh, the Ranger ODO is at 35K. Is anyone else about done with this Ford experience?
I bought a used 2019 in Jan 2024 with 28,000 miles. Blend doors malfunctioned, fuel pressure sensor in the gas tank went bad and the transmission had to be rebuilt in the 1st 90 days after purchase. Just had the trans reflashed for the surging in 3rd and 4th gear. If I didn't have it all set up as a towed vehicle behind RV I'd drop this like a hot potato! It's a nice driving truck when it right but I'm so tainted by my experience so far, never will a Ford ever park in my driveway.

The "can opener" is a little south of me, and in it's defense, the height is clearly marked , although some say not accurately after the road gets paved a few times ...
