no clue....will let you know as soon as the order is built. not so patiently waiting.

Maybe I will swing by the Engine plant and see if one has my name on it......
The sticker on my window said made in Mexico but the engine itself had stickers that said made in Cleveland.

I'm thinking Engine originated in Mexico and assembled in the Cleveland Engine Plant. Not made in Cleveland Engine Plant.

Yep, that is exactly what mine has. You could be right. It gets really fuzzy where something is "made" these days. Parts come from all over the world, even if it is all assembled in MI.

You would think that Ford could answer such a simple question, they would almost have to know where they build engines... Wouldn't they?
From what we've seen in the last few months... Maybe not !

Would be interesting to see all sources for the Ranger, I know at least one aluminum front suspension part is produced here in Effingham, IL.

looks like the Mexico parts content has dropped in half

older thread but interesting..
Yours says Canada/US 50 percent
Mexico 16 percent
Well that does not equal 100 percent..

Anyway after now reading the thread it is possible the engines are made in more than one place. Some of the engines are made in the US and some in Mexico so that press release could be technically right.
maybe overtime they will shift more production to the Ohio plant.

True, it's not 100% part content. As the stickers have always said "NOTE: Part Content Does Not Include Final Assembly, Distribution, Or Other Non-Parts Costs."
It's just stating just like produce stickers do etc. country of origin.
Engine: Mexico
Transmission: U.S.

So if I understand this correctly:
If 51% of the engine components are manufactured in Mexico the window sticker is correct....
Even though all those parts are shipped to Cleveland and assembled there?

I sat on the phone for 30 minutes trying to get a definitive answer to this from Ford Customer Relations 1-800-392-3673. The gal couldn't answer the question why the window sticker lists the country of origin as Mexico, yet the motor tag is marked Cleveland.

I emailed Ford Customer Service... maybe they'll give me an answer.

Stuff like this is encouraging:

"The 2019 Ford Ranger will be built at the Ford Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan. The all-new midsize truck’s major components will also be built in the Detroit area, with its 2.3-liter EcoBoost manufactured at the Ford Cleveland Engine Plant and its segment-first1 SelectShift® 10-speed automatic will be built at the Ford Livonia Transmission Plant."

https://social.ford.com/en_US/story/vehicle-type/truck/first-look-at-the-2019-ford-ranger.html

When we were looking to buy a truck, and I saw the Ranger engine was made in Mexico.... we went and looked at Colorado's.... but the Chevy styling, quality and performance led us back to Ford.

You'd think manufacturer's would clarify just what the "Part Content Information" stickers mean?
