I'm in Ontario, Canada and we get lots of road salt hitting our vehicles. If this were true I would think mine would have sealer and it doesn't. I think what others have said is true, there was a problem with the sealer and they pushed ahead with production anyway.

Yes I had wondered that too. Also wondered if there is another sleeve part number floating around that has different clips on the side. I also thought about trimming the plastic more to get the sleeve to fit to the metal behind it but I also bent the clips to fit.

Yes I was aware of that, thanks for mentioning it though. I share your opinion on the stock 4 pin, its in a bad location and picks up all the dirt from the road, also why I went through the trouble of installing the new harness and plug.
