Visited the Hercules Tire booth at the Pigeon Forge Jeep Invasion last month and was impressed with what I saw. Did some research and decided to try their Hercules Terra Trac AT-X Venture tire in 255/75R17, not the LT version. Reviews look pretty good since 2021 Introduction, 3 peak snow rated. USA company nearly 80 years old.

The price ($170 each) seems very reasonable for what ya get so I'm giving them a try. Should be in Monday, but Ford dealer will still have my Ranger. Probably get installed late next week.

Looks to be a good all-around tire. The lugs are a bit close for mud, but should handle better at highway speeds than open lug off road tires. Everything is give and take when it comes to tires. Good luck with those.

Similar tread pattern to my Cooper Discoverer AT3s. Surprisingly good in sand.
60K tread life for the Hercs- please keep us updated.

The first two years or 50% of tread life they'll replace if damaged by road hazard. Damn good warranty for no charge.

So you can accelerate in snow.. but how about stopping and turning?

The 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake Symbol (3PMS for short) is a six-pointed snowflake inside a three-peak mountain, found on tires that meet specific standards. They signify the tire has been tested for acceleration on medium-packed snow. Braking and turning don’t factor into the testing.

Tires with the 3PMS symbol have scored at least 110 on the traction index. This means they accelerate at least 10 percent faster than a typical all-season tire that isn’t 3PMS rated. (There are all-season tires that have the 3PMS designation.)

Ferruccio Lamborghini to Enzo Ferrari concerning his Ferrari automobile:

Lamborghini: "The car is great but the brakes are terrible"

Ferrari, mad that someone dissed his car: "My cars are made to GO, not to stop!"

It generated enough of a rift that Lamborghini started his own car company.

I've only seen these on some of the TV shows. I assume they give them the tires for exposure.

Other than the old "letters in or letters out" whitewall option, I've never seen sidewall tread display options. So these tires are show and go?
