Not sure how you interpreted that? Sign me up for none of the above. I was a child of the 60's... manual everything is just fine.

Honestly, the only reason I even bought a new truck was for the plethora of air bags. The way people drive today you need all the help you can get.
Your not there yet then. Believe me. I am of the 50’s and well aware of muscle steering, manual everything, etc. You can’t argue this point if you have no physical ailments yet.

Radio shutting off..

Was washing my truck yesterday, and had the radio on as I was washing and after awhile , it shut off to save battery... I Wasn't paying attention to the time how long it was when it shut off.

Other than that, Love everything of my Ranger. (Still shocked of how many hate their Auto Start/stop!)

And I understand your point. But if we all used your analogy, we'd all be chauffered around in handicap accessible vans, ... because... well.... you know.... someday maybe that's what we will need.

Choice is my point. You choose what you want, I'll choose what I want. And I don't need a tailgate with a damper on it. If you do.. buy a truck that has one. There's a bunch of them out there.

Let me be clear, I am in LOVE with this truck. Looking forward to a decade of use out of her. But there are a few little things that annoy me. The window switch location is awkward being so far back. And the tail gate has a huge gap all the way around the edges I can almost stick my fingers through from inside the bed to outside with a bed cover on.

What are your little pet peeves?
The Ramp I park in at work has a height restriction of 6 feet 8 inches. The Ranger has an unusually large plastic antenna mounted on the roof and it hits the height warning sign at the ramp entrance - makes a loud gong noise. I've listened carefully as I drive through the ramp and it doesn't hit any other spots...but it is close. As I look at full-sized trucks, none have this large of an antenna and most do not ding the height sign. This is a minor peeve...but if the fine folks at Ford could lower the angle of the antenna, it would help folks who park in old ramps.

I think we are on the same side here. I was commenting along with others. But when everyone bitches that they get things on their vehicles that they paid for or don’t want or need, my thought is, “ Buy a stripped down model and mod it your way”.
If you paid cash, maybe complain but an option like this within a loan or lease will barely move the pennies past the decimal. You won’t even notice it. I bought a fully loaded Lariat for a reason. I’m not going to complain about all the good stuff whether I need it or not. I will complain about the little things. Someone brought up peeves. That’s all it is. I don’t see anyone here NOT buying a truck because any of those peeves affected their decisions.
I love my new truck. The good enormously out-weighs the bad or any petty peeve.
Simple as that.
...and one other thing. People here are what we, on other forums that involve big purchases as enablers. They spend boat loads of cash on new wheels, lift kits and other expensive add ons all the while complaining about the little things that are built in that they shouldn’t have to pay for.

Hell, years ago, (I don’t smoke), they started not including lighters or ashtrays. The bitching was 10 fold. I still wanted the ashtray because that’s where we kept loose change.
You just can’t win.... soooooooo, if you can afford to buy a new truck, don’t complain.
Reminds me of a guy I know that is tight. He spent literally a boat load of cash on a huge boat but doesn’t want to take it out because it takes a boat load of cash to fill up the tank....

Could have been worse. Friends wife bought one of the first Navigators and found out the hard way it would not fit in the common home garage when she backed in and heard all kinds of crunches.

So I gotta ask... what were you driving?

My 1st car was a 1970 Nova, 230 6 cylinder 3 on the tree. Rock solid dependable for 130,000 miles. Drove it until 1985 and it was still running great when I sold it.

Hi John! You had some good life out of that Nova! My first was a 1976 Buick Apollo 6 cylinder, grey with a red velour interior RWD (high-beam (dimmer-switch) switch on the floor) and before that, various other cars my parents had in the 70-80's typically Pontiacs, Buicks and a Ford LTD and a Tempo.. later the Isuzu Trooper with a manual transmission and outside locking front hubs, that little tin box was my favorite! They always bought domestic like the LeSabre, Bonville, and Grand-Am and today drive late model Volvo's.

Here's a stubby 4" antenna for ya.

1. Double honk
2. Uselessness of right side gauge cluster (lariat) when phone attached.
3. No trans temp, oil temp, other vitals
4. Touch to unlock on all handles except tailgate. Hate having to find my keys when approaching the tailgate is when you need "hands free" unlocking the most.

I can agree with #4. I love the keyless entry, but when I need to unlock my tailgate I actually have to reach in my pocket to pull out the fob! Terrible, I tell you!

For #2, I put up the compass - that is what displays in the right screen all the time on mine.

For #1, it has been mentioned several times - you can disable that with FORScan.

I wish, I would ride a bike then....

No idea why some of you cannot hit 400 all the time with ease. I have about 35 miles each way when I drive into work, and if I'm WFH it's around town for the most part. It's been so consistent that I can rely on it and that amazes me for an 18Gallon tank 450-470 is great for a truck. Would I like a 25Gallon tank...sure would, yet not really needed,
I'm so with you there! The only times I get less that 22mpg is when I'm pulling our trailer. Otherwise it's around 24mpg on my work commute and trips into town, or upwards of 28mpg on long trips. It's more than possible to hit over 450 miles on a tank, just not when you drive aggressively or speedily or any of that. If you drive eco-conscious and calmly, those high numbers come easily.

What's curious here to me, is this says a lot about your driving style. There is no way, you and me got the two GEMS of an engine in the bunch. Growing up as a Boston driver (Masshole) none of us are easy on the pedal. So if you to want 430-470 miles to a tank, start smoothing out your driving style. I think what I posted earlier may have been missed, does running 87 or 93 Octane make a diff. in engine performance, gas mileage, and longevity? I have been exclusively running 93 just because it's a turbo. I know what the manual says, it was my choice.

You must live somewhere flat. No way a 4x4 ranger gets that much on a hill, I don't care how you drive it.
