Check yourself for ticks. Anywhere they go there's a trail of ticks waiting for a blood donor. Not sure if ticks are that far south but here they are loaded with ticks carrying several different diseases.
Yes there's ticks here just like they were back east. We were on the paved walking trial and never in the grass which is where they usually are but I've got them before without ever being off the pavement.

The banjo player will check for ticks.
Oh, that is soooooo wrong!
And if I'd have been drinking anything when I read that I'd have spewed it out my nose.
Still giggling...

Where is that internet posting trophy when you really need it!

That is why I post that type of thing it is in the betterment of my Ranger brothers. If they are drinking something, then blow it out their nose they are cleaning out their sinuses.

When it comes to ticks…. I morph into a tiny sheltered child ?.. can’t stand them. Honestly though, I’ll go out of my way to kill the little bastards, I hate them… lost my gramps Williams to Lyme disease (yes he got it from a tick.) about 5 years so I also join the tick “sissy” crew.? however also if I find one I’ll bring pain and death to it with my stiletto hammer ? ..

I apologize about the graphic nature of the pictures… Dr. Brian Tan of the St. Louis vet clinic in Oakland is
AMAZING.

before. (Poor little guy)

Friggin’ ticks - hate them! How such a tiny bug can take down humans and other species is just too hard to imagine. The cottage lot is largely wooded so I always wear appropriate clothing when cutting the grass or working in the yard trimming branches, cutting up downed trees, etc. Then, it’s into the lake or a shower afterwards. Sometimes, it’s a bit like Silkwood. ?

Geezaloo, I felt safer dealing with scorpions, diamondbacks, and gila monsters at my place in AZ.

Yeah but those little suckers (literally) grab on and never let go unless you put a hot match to their heads. I remember way back when I was young (yes, I can remember that far back ?) my mom found one in our kitchen. At the time we never seen one and she just sent it down the drain in the kitchen sink. The next morning the darn thing was back on the counter! She tried squishing it with a paper towel and that little thing just wouldn't die. This was long before the internet so we had to find out through others what the heck it was.

Sadly I seen one of the roofers on the job site get taken down bad by one with Lyme disease. It messed him up so bad he never could return to work because his muscles were all messed up, he could barely walk and lost a lot of weight. Crazy how some tiny little thing can cause so much damage to your body.

Exactly why i mentioned hammer time, my gramps put up a good long fight. He was already retired (from Chrysler) by the time he got caught by the little biological warfare suckers.. he would joke about how he wasn’t sure if he was losing his teeth because of old age or the LD.. he got bit while out hunting… funny thing about that man is he would always go hunting with a bag of apples, rifle, and side arm…but never came back with any thing other than a empty sack… turns out he had a soft spot for animals and would just feed the deer while going for a walk, take a nap, and would occasionally shoot at a old bell and abandon car someone left out in the woods… ? I miss that old goofball.

We have a winner!

Truth to be told, it was Whisky. I just use the stemless glass as whisky glass as it's more convenient and keeps the flavors in just as well as a dedicated whisky glass.
