You can fix the double honk with FORScan. I did.
Ya, I was aware if that.. had done a search of the site this past week. Given my previous problem when the truck had some kind of electrical problem and threw a fit, refusing to start for 5 minutes, I wouldn't want to do anything to potentially void any warranty work if the situation ever became more serious. Better if Ford just added the capability to switch it off in the menu system.

I would agree - I really hated that behavior and was glad to turn it off. I never understood what people were talking about until it happened to me like twice in two days. The next day I disabled it. It was extremely annoying and not helpful (at least to me).

1. 18 Gallon Gas Tank -- Seriously too small. Should be more like 26
2. The pinch welds on across the bottom of the truck. The spot welds catch the light on a sunny day... looks horrible
3. Lack of cooled seats and heated steering wheel (Stupid I know, but I had them on my RAM and I miss them)

All that being said I'm really enjoying my Ranger. This is my first small truck (had full sized trucks for 20+ years) and it's a real joy to drive

#1 I would be glad to have a larger tank, though given my 2018 Tacoma had a 21.5 gallon tank and a range of 350-370miles MAX, and this one is 450-470miles on an 18 gallon tank...no complaints.

You're getting in a hurry. Touch the back of the handle, give it a second to get unlocked, THEN pull.
This is getting out of the truck when the doors are still locked. So the interior door handle.

I'm going to try a couple different tests, I generally try opening the door just as I'm turning the truck off. Might be my timing.

10-4. I don’t use Autolock, can’t stand it and I don’t live in an area that requires it. Have you enabled Auto-unlock?

lack of power rear slider is mine.
and considering i have a sedentary job, i actually look forward to doing a bunch of tail gate curls without a damper.
Manual Sliding or Power Sliding... those windows are so small, I'm at a loss as to why they even bothered to add the rear window?

On my '02 Tacoma I liked the sliding rear window because it was full height. This allowed you to open the window and slide long items through the window into the cab (like long trim boards, pvc pipe etc.). Those items would lay on the metal window frame. But since the Ranger window is like a portal through glass, I couldn't imagine ever laying anything on the glass in fear of breaking it. Therefore I didn't get one at all.

First thing to do is turn off the automatic 3MPH lock feature, this will make it easier for egress for both driver and passenger.
The feature is especially annoying when picking up or dropping off a passenger.

Hi Dan,

Mr Nakanishi thought a Peeve was a breed of Dog or Cat....not really too sure, but clearly it was some sort of pet. :)

There were many more Idioms eg. I can give you a ballpark answer....Blank stare..What mean "ballpark"?

`I have a retired buddy with Ford and he was some type of engineer and designer. He showed me some old Mercury and Mustang badges that he said he designed. He had some proofs. But when I introduce him I say he was the engineer that designed the location for the one spark plug that you could never reach. Did you know him? LOL

How are you getting so many miles on a tank? I only get about 380

My peeve (I don't have any pets) is that the drivers door is just that the arm rest is too low and the window sill trim is hard plastic. Are there any padding for sale. Also the brake peddle and accelerator are too close and I have hit both when braking. I have to be conscious and very specific in my foot position. I have Mustang 5.0 GT and don't have that peddle problem.

The “DOT” sensor in the rear view mirror. I always think there is a fly in the truck when I look back.

Hi Sandy,

Yeah...I know that spark plug well! My dream job at Ford was the design and release of the little ball on top of the aerial !

No idea, I drive it the same way I drove my Tundra V8, and Tacoma V6 and not shy with the gas pedal. The range was at near 400 when I picked it up from the dealer which saw no highway miles. Since I've had it, it's rose from 420-470, last fill up it registered at 450, and I've been filling it with 93 octane from day one. We have 87, 89, and 93 Octane available here. Since my past Turbo's always needed 91 or better, and the manual says it will run on 87 yet higher is better I kept filling it with 93. The new Tacoma V6 engines (not a turbo) can run on 87, yet 91 is also recommended. I wonder for longevity, and performance what level of octane is best in this 2.3L Turbo?

True, the weight is placed upon the glass now, though the new Tacoma's lowered bed height affects that ease of sliding items through. I was not a fan of the lowered bed height, I found tailgaters would roll up closer to my arse than they did in the Tundra, or with this Ranger. I know a lot of guys like the lower height, and dislike the Ranger's bed height, each his own. At least we have a rear defroster in the Ranger with the sliding glass, my Tacoma had the powered rear glass window and no defroster.
