Discolored Window Trim

2020 Ranger 4X4 XLT

What used to be black trim around the windows has now turned grey, almost white. I bought some "special" treatment to restore the black color and it did nothing. Any idea on how to bring the black back?

I have a 2020 Lariat and mine are the same way. I haven't found anything yet either. Here are the part numbers if you decide to replace them.

303 Aerospace Protectant is the best UV protectant you'll find for black trim. With the intense sun and heat we have here in AZ I've never had an issue with either of my Rangers. It will restore faded plastic and rubber too. Amazon does carry it along with most auto stores.

I've also heard the Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer works well too.

Ok my looks that way too.. is it an easy job or lots of elbow grease? I’m not a great or good detailer.

Mine's worse, once it's been grey for a while, then it actually starts to crumble. My previous car a Santa Fe which is now 15 years old and driven by my youngest son the door trims still look brand new.... So much for Hyundai being a "cheap" brand.

I used the Mr. Clean magic erasers to get rid of the fading and the Cerakote Trim Restorer wipes.

This reminds me of years ago when I was a kid, my sister was cleaning something and asked my father what she could use to clean whatever it was (?)
He told her some soap and a little elbow grease.
A short time later she returned and asked,
Where do you keep the elbow grease as I cannot find it in the kitchen cabinet or garage ?
