I like the Raptor (not so much the price), but I need the towing capacity. 5500 ish pounds max towing on the Raptor wouldn't work for me. Ranger and Colorado/Canyon are the only mid sizers that are options for me. I'm just keeping my '19 5G for as long it lives. Nothing new is tickling my fancy, especially for the new prices.

This is my hesitation with the Ranger Raptor also. I tow a 5,000 lbs GVWR trailer. The tongue weight is closer to 7,000 lbs, at least before the WDH is connected up.

I have a 23 XLT Tremor and am so satisfied with it that I have barely looked at the Ranger Raptor.
I had my name on two different dealers lists one here in AZ and one back in MA. I was all in on one until after my accident with my '19 and getting my '23 Tremor. I just couldn't justify spending that much more money for such little gain beside the "prestige" of saying I have a Raptor. Looking back it was the right choice after hearing Bills review and the of a few others.

Appreciate you sharing the comparison. I was hoping the 6G Ranger would have had a larger interior but that was my primary let down and primary reason to upgrade. The 400hp v6 TT of the Raptor was very appealing to hear but factoring the weight increase, that makes sense why it was not a big difference to your Ford tuned Ranger.

I have a 1" level on my Tremor and the same 285/70/17 sized tires in k02. A white Raptor pulled up to me at a light and I honestly had to double check to see if it really was a raptor or just a lifted FX4. The Fender "vent" was the main giveaway until I saw the Raptor badge in the back. Was a little underwhelmed, did not have the massive presence I thought it would.

The Raptor front end it the only one I like but the Raptor Ranger does not seem to stand out as much as the F150 Raptor in comparison to the normal F150. The 6G tailgate looks like a Tacoma with Ranger written on it to me too.

I really appreciate what Ford did with the 6G Ranger Raptor, but coming from a Tremor, I am not sure it is worth it to me. I like the interior and exterior more on my Ranger and it is pretty dialed in the way I want it too. It has given me peace of mind moving forward with the more expensive mods like big brakes, intercooler and radiator now. Maybe get that carbon steering wheel too.

She does everything I need and I honestly have not had the time to go off-roading like I used to. Lucky to get out 2-3 times a year now. Love driving the thing too. Something about it reminds me of my 66 Mustang but with modern amenities. Granted the Mustang is much faster, just gives me some kind of feeling though.

Where does all the weight come from? The engine would be a bit heavier, but is it the performance suspension? That is a LOT of weight....

you're right and that is a LOT of weight!....I just pulled the info from the Ford press release for the 2021 Tremor and the Ford website for the Raptor.....beefier frame??.....no sure?!

Mine has the Ford tune and I’m at 6 seconds. I haven’t really tried too many times but I’m pretty sure it’ll go faster than 6

That sounds right!.....I'm betting with the Ford Tune my truck is right around 6 maybe a touch under......I don't use it for off the line races but it feels nice to have the power when you need it!.....

totally agree!!....the price difference doesn't justify the minimal gain in "extras"!....Yours with a tune is super close to the Raptor power......the offroad stuff is close as well as mostly you'll be going slower and NOT desert racing!.....That's what the Raptor is for, desert racing and I bet 99.9% will never do that but rather just wander off road to camp or explore......I fell for the hype until I drove it, now I'm even more happy with my tuned Lariat Tremor!!

yeah, I think the Tremor really is the "sweet spot" with the off road focused Ranger.....like you I also have the 1" front level which makes it sit perfect. and yes with the Tune it's plenty powerful enough without worrying about blowing the motor. and the price for the 5g compared to the 6g is borderline absurd!!.....I paid just under $50k and that was with a $1,500 BS mark-up back in Oct 2021 and that now seems super reasonable....adding the Ford tune was cheap at under $700.....and the little mods were nice touches that make it personalized......like the "FORD" Performance grill......folding rear headrests, yellow fogs......the only thing I'm "missing" is the oversized giant center screen that I really don'
t want or need.....but the memory seat would be nice.......overall a Tuned tremor is 99% a Raptor at MUCH less the price.......I don't see the Ranger Raptors flying off the shelves......not to mention todays interest rates (I was quoted 5.89% with an 800 credit score)

Considering you are in Orange County, surprised they have had that one sitting around so long. Aside from the ONE 2wd FX4, I have not seen any other 6G Rangers at two dealers. What I was surprised was seeing a F150 Raptor R and normal Raptor both in stock at one dealer. Guessing the markup must be quite high lol. Now, the Raptor R is something I wish I could afford.

I added a generic pedal commander and it made a world of difference. I’m also getting ready to install a Livernois Motorsports intercooler. Hopefully that will help the turbo spool a little quicker. I am amazed at the power you can pull out of these engines with upgrades.

I tried one of those pedal commanders, and, I just didn't see the point. I returned it. If I get on the pedal I think it's just fine. That's just me though, and it's the same with the raptor. The Ranger has plenty of guts for me. And, I have a SuperCab, so, SCORE! :)
