Looking to get my girlfriend into a Ranger

We went on a weekend trip and now she wants one, we can add all the bolt ons after I just need to start her out with a good low miles truck, she just got rid of a Chevy 1500 4x4 she had to 10 years, it was a little big for her, she wanted an scab but I dont see any, I am trying to keep it below $28k "cash" if I can
Looking on the internet for a good used loaded XLT I have found 2 that meet the bill a 2019 with 54k at a dealer and a 22 XLT 14k on marketplace
What should I Offer? on this ....

I dont mind driving a few states to get it from N.Y I went to MD to get mine....
mine is a 21 and had 13k on it, I offered $29k when I bought it a year ago they were asking $38k?

What year model is the red one? Remember that while the 2019's have a lot of the original cool stuff that was later decontented, they also have had their share of problems like the ac blend door warfare thing and other stuff that's been widely documented in this forum.

But yeah. The red one is a beauty.

her 1500 was Red and Chrome that is probably the one she wants too, it has 50k on it but thats not bad mileage ?

My only 2 cents is that the '22 will have lots of decontented stuff - but none of it would likely be a show stopper.

I've been very happy with my '22 but only have 5,800 miles on it. And I may be partial to red. =)

Both seem like good options.

While they're both nice, it's a Ranger you can't go wrong. Personally I like this one as it's newer and has lower miles which would be my main focus. Most of the options that were removed were minor ones and didn't effect performance. Just add a damper and some 303 and it'll be like brand new! ?

I got a used 2019 in Jan this year and have had issues from day one. I'd go with the 22, again look around and see what's out there. I use the CARFAX website and put like a 200 mile radius. You can put in the search criteria like year, color, trim level etc..

For me black dosen't due the Ranger justice. This one just pops in my eyes. Stunning!!!

That is called Rapid Red Metallic. My 2020 is that color and it is really a nice color in the sun when clean. That one also has the chrome package like mine really nice combo.

If she wants a Scab, why are you settling for a Screw ????
Everyone knows that Scabs are the best....they show your girlfriend is smart, capable, and has great taste. And, they're sure to become collectors trucks !!!

In either case, I would get a very through checkup by a good mechanic. Most of the folks with no issues want to keep their Rangers, those plagued with issues trade them out. My 21 is not so decontented that I really care.
