Hi y’all, so Ive been browsing this forum for a few days now and couldn’t seem to find anything that would answer my question. I’m not sure if this is in the wrong thread and if it is I apologize. However I wasn’t sure where to post it. I have a 2019 black Ford ranger quad cab XLT. I have done a few mods but nothing crazy. I was in a fender bender about a year ago today actually. It ruined the front bumper so I replaced that with a cooler looking bumper. I also put on the raptor grille and added a bull bar. Also upgraded the stock radio with the 8in screen with apple car play. I’m looking to do more. I want to beef it up a little if that makes any sense. I know it’s a smaller truck but I want to take it on some trails, nothing crazy, and I go camping a lot. I know a lift kit, wheels and tires should be my main focus but I don’t know where to begin. 6in lift sounds cool to me but don’t want it to look stupid. I know it’s my truck and only I can choose what I like but I’m curious if anyone lifted their ranger 6in. My main question is what would you install or do to make a ranger look badass. Fender flares? New exhaust? Any tips or suggestions is greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!!

Opinion alert. I would advise against a 6 inch lift. Just get you a quality replacement front spring/strut set up from Icon, Fox, Bilstein, etc. to raise the front 2.5” so it’s level. You don’t want your center of gravity (COG) getting too high and throw off your front CV angles too much and have to do the dreaded front differential drop. 4 x 4 versions of this truck are already pretty high off the ground.

Yes some good Borla cat back exhaust just sounds amazing and tough.

Fender flares always look tough with a good wheel tire combo.

Alpha Rex LED headlights look pretty damn good too.

A roof rack with some off-roady things attached to it and LED pods also have a good look., whether you use it or not LOL.

I'll oppose this opinion with my own.

Fender flares usually look like tacky added on garbage.

SOMETIMES they look decent if painted. Most of the time they look like a redneck ricer.

Opinion over.

These fenders have bolts that are actual fasteners...the entire setup can be restore back to OEM if you change your mind later...also, the kit comes with front bumper finish caps...

Also, I'd stay away from the BDS 6"lift. Looks like a steaming pile of garbage.

Steaming piles of garbage make terrible lift kits. Not nearly rigid enough and the smell during installation would kill you!

Dealer installed 6” RC lift, 33x12.5-18 tires. Nice looking truck. Then my wife’s knees went bad and 13mpg highway miles during a 90 mile commute brought her back to earth. She drives a Civic now. Hatchback.

not to sound suck-upish but no one should try and duplicate yours. There should only be one

Hey Casey,

If you don’t want a steaming pile of garbage 6” lift, how about something more moderate like this?

3AC01326-EF36-469B-9AFE-DF1D33F6D443.jpeg

or with tacky, added on garbage fender flares for that total redneck look?

Either way, enjoy building up your truck. There’s a lot of good advice on here from the members - opinions too - that’s what keeps it fun.

Also upgraded the stock radio with the 8in screen with apple car play.
Didn't your XLT already have an 8" screen with Apple car play? Or did you replace it with something
other that Sync3? Any details?

In order I would :
Leveling coil overs in the front & possibly rear shocks. Imo bringing the nose up approx. 2" - 3" would be enough

All terrain tires in maybe the oem tremor size or larger with either wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels

Cbe, I love the exhaust note, look, & lack of interior drone of the awe. The beefy tips are such an improvement over the factory exhaust which looks like a little galvanized fence post tube
