Do you drive in Select mode and shift gears “manually” using the +/- button? My thinking here is that if you are, maybe it’s a warning to shift gears. Just a guess.

You know I’m not going to get any sleep tonight if this doesn’t get solved. ;)
No, since I solved the bucking issue at lower speeds (it was the EGR differential pressure sensor, part number KA1Z-5L200-A) I just put it in Drive. It is always in 10th gear at highway speeds and kicks down properly when I step on it. But that IS when I see the light.

Did it look like this....
Transmission Fluid Temperature Warning Light
Indicates tranny is overheating.
If you do a bit of web searching, a gear or gears as a warning light means it is relating to the transmission, either overheating, low on fluid, ect.
This is just a generic picture I found....it could be one gear, two gears and the icon in the center is a thermometer.
But a gear means transmission.

Idk if this helps but this is every light in the dash at least on a 19 xlt (used engineering test mode after buying the truck what seems like forever ago and grabbed some pics). Is it maybe one of these (though the only two red ones are the seatbelt and parking brake indicator it seems)

You know I forgot about E Test Mode, you know that might work but the manuals call out - Rolling Indicators, so some positions can be multiple indicators or colors, but it’s not very detailed on that description, so IDK if that means per programming of that space or will that space provide multiple indicators

I didn’t even think about that either when I was reading this and all the other replies. I know on my middle screen that bottom row seems to be pretty consistent though with placement.

the only thing red and angry I’ve seen take over the whole screen is the collision pre-warning alert but there 120% chance that won’t be mistaken for anything but. That goes off like the 4th of July until the sensors stop sending the alarm through.

He said in 10th gear and when stepping into throttle, could it be a low vacuum situation triggering the light to come on.

I had something similar happen to me about 2 weeks ago as the OP.

I could have sworn it was a red lamp between the compass and the outside temp.

I was in traffic, ACC on, going about 40mph. I just happen to glance down, and as soon as I noticed it, it went away. I couldn’t make out what it was.

It’s been bugging me ever since.

Well, I used my scanner and commanded ALL Dash lights on, there is not (1) single light displayed that has not been covered already

The manual talks about a Distance Warning Indicator, but never describes what it is:

So, from what I gather, the quick flash of the indicator is the ABS applying the brakes to slow the vehicle down to match the speed of the object in front of the truck.
You may not be getting an audible warning but if the description is not entirely correct and play What If - The indicator flashes anytime the ABS applies the brakes, and the Auditable & Message are for severe braking.

The problem is - I cannot find (anywhere) what the (Flashing Indicator) looks like, if it is either CC or ACC neither one depicts it being (RED)

Owner's Manual:

The system applies the brakes to slow your
vehicle to maintain a safe gap distance
from the vehicle in front. The system only
applies limited braking. You can override
the system by applying the brakes.
If the system determines that its maximum
braking level is not sufficient, an audible
warning sounds, a message appears in the
information display and an indicator
flashes when the system continues to
brake. Take immediate action.
Setting the Gap Distance
You can decrease or increase the distance

That's it.
That spot for the (Mid-Level) IPC
  • Rotating RTT indicators:
    • Lane departure warning
    • Lane keeping assist on
    • Forward collision warning alert
    • Distance alert
All of which have been covered already
