Does anyone else use the tire? I put the left foot on the tire, step up, and then swing the right leg up into the bed. I'm still flexible enough to make it work.

I do like the built in step on the 6G Rangers. I'm thinking I can step on that with the right foot, then left foot on the tire, and then into the bed. Three easy steps.

I do that...for now.
But I can see a day coming sooner than I like when I won't be able to and will be looking for a sturdy alternative. I like the look of the Best stop thingy.

Problem using the tire, for me....I'd need a ladder to get up on the tire !!!
Old creaky squeaky knees need the Dee Zee Step I have, and also keep a small 2 step folder in the bed.

I do that on occasion when the knees can handle it. My preferred method is my butt on the tailgate, roll and swing my legs up and onto my knees. Easier to do than describe.

I have a pair of these collapsible stepladders that I keep in the bed. On good days, I can just go up and over the wheel, use the edge of the bumper, or do the tailgate-butt method that @KJRR described, but on bad days, these little fellows give me that extra bit of boost that I need, and since it's a pair, I can put one on either side of the tailgate.

Thanks, I seen those also. How did you install it?
It comes with some self tapping screws that drill a 4 screw anchor plate to the tailgate and then the ladder itself also secures via a canvas strip. The video in the amazon link shows it pretty well.

Oh ok. I hate the thought of drilling into my ranger lol. You also have to keep clearance room so the tailgate can open/close securely. (Around the edges)
