I J-braced my 6G today. No topper, but will be running a rack on my Retrax cover. It's a lot of work and when you are done, you can't tell you did anything at all. You can only see them if you lie down and look up from underneath.

LMAO what a joke! And here I was laughing at Toyotas for needing bed braces

Interesting to see what my aluminum bed rack and rooftop tent do to the bed...
Well for sure your dealer and Ford have already said not warranty. Cheap as trucks, it’s embarrasing
In still baffled how $75k truck needs J braces

Are the Next Gen beds made of aluminum? My 5G it is steel. The only thing aluminum is the hood, front fenders and tailgate.

Why not just fit the braces in the Factory, how much can it cost?

not to be a dick - and it may already be mentioned by someone else but im pretty sure the manual says not to use a camper top or slide in on the 5g rangers. the weak bed may be why.
Might be a dumb question but I see many that have toppers on their 5g rangers like ARE or Leer & no issues with bed. Are these trucks really not supposed to have toppers? I was going to look into one soon.

I have an ARB Canopy (topper) on my 5G, and ARB supply the braces as part of their install kit. That might tell you something.

6G beds are a totally different design than 5G. I haven't heard of the beds cracking on the 5G. Since everyone says, 'give credit to the Aussies for a great 6G design', we can blame this design defect on them. It's still Ford's fault anyway.

The bed is one of the design changes I found attractive on the 6G. I wonder how truly different the mounting and body is from the 5G.
