Looks like a nice gun. I have 3 mossbergs. 1st one is a cheap pump that is hunting capable, but mostly an under the bed gun. Next is a 30 year old 12 semi-auto, and tge last is a 3 inch shell 12 ga camo turkey gun.

I think I could have all 3 available and still be outgunned against your slick new one.
maybe by the gun, but I have very little shotgun experience. That will change, but for now, I have no idea what I’m doing. Ha!

I have the Maverick 88 version of the Mossberg 500. I've had it for 20 years an never a problem. I got the home defense model with 18.5" barrel.

I've been tempted to get the KelTech KSG pump with two magazines under it for 15 rounds total or load the mini shells an get 28 plus 1.

I would also like a semi auto shotgun but I don't shoot enough to justify buying multiple shotguns.

the mavericks are rock solid and low cost! mines a 88 also. cant beat it for the price and durability. some folks spread rumors they are made in china or mexico. thats not the case. they are made in texas. ive been by the factory. to be fair - they may have some mexicans working in it lol. but still on this side of the border.

I heard they use the American made parts from Mossberg but are assembled in Mexico. Either way they are rock solid, or the ones made a while back are.

The 88 is my under the bed shotgun.

Of course, the great danes sleep downstairs, so chances are slim I'd ever have to use it.

I just put this inexpensive. 22LR foldy-boi pistol together using a complete (poly) lower I scored new for $40. :) I had a .22 bolt and a shorty upper already.

HAHAHAHA
The cool thing is this is the coffee table in my man cave/Mustang Room/home office. And you can just see a holster in the right side of the image with a Glock just near AR pistol. : ) I love my room!

Finally! Three drives to the gun store (one hour each way) and it’s finally in my hands. Can’t wait to get it out and shoot with it. I’m really impressed with the build on this. Comes with interchangeable front sight, 3 chokes, and shims for the stock.

Read the instructions and take the time to get the right shims in for the stock if you plan to shoot it fast. That was one of the best things I’ve done with learning to shoot shotguns fast! There’s a YouTube video by Patrick Kelley explaining how you want it set up.

An oddball to play with. SilencerCo Maxim9 integrally suppressed pistol. Added a Vortex Defender ST dot that needs to be sighted in now. The magazines are MBX Xtreme steel Glock mags that are 140mm and 170mm in length.

I’ll check him out. I’ll probably shoot it one, as is, and see what I think I need. My last time with a shotgun was in high school (1999-2003 era), so… I don’t know what I don’t know about it.

I’m primarily a pistol guy though, lately, I’m wanting to branch out.

I’m trying to find someone local to me who can take me from “combat effective” to “quality” with my pistol. I’m basically self-taught and I’ve reached a point where I’m as good as I’ll ever get on my own.
