2019 Lariat with 32.5K miles. Only issue was a bad radiator overflow tank, so I replaced it, filled with fluid (numerous times), but finally got it "full". Battery has been the only issue, but it's still the original. I unplugged the BMS plug about 2 yrs ago and have since added a Battery Tender 3 amp charger/tender that I plug in when it gets really cold.

I read all the messages of people having all kinds of problems with their ranger. Really discouraging. I have a 2020 Ranger XLT with 17k on it,

Anyone got a few miles on theirs without problems?
I've got a 2019 XLT FX4.
Just went over 63,000 miles.
Daily driver, and I do some moderate wheeling with it.
I get the oil changed every 10K like clockwork, and the rest of the maintenance done per the owner manual schedule
NEVER had a problem with it.

I have an ass load of tiny dumb issues, but nothing that makes me concerned with being stranded.

Lot of weird hesitations, no power during turns(traction control probably), that's about it for any significant issues. Most issues I have are quality control but engine and transmission seem fine otherwise.

14.5k miles if it matters.

When you join a forum for any vehicle, you will always only hear about problems. No one joins a forum to say "I haven't had any problems, my truck works great". That being said, I'm at 48000 miles and I've only had a MAF sensor fail. Knock on wood. I'm fairly built, so I put more stress on my truck than most.
But they don’t have MAF sensors… ?

2021 STX 4X4 SuperCab factory ordered:, 55,000mi now.
  • I had the seatbelt and headrest recall (Supercabs only) done right after I picked it up.
  • Did the blend door/plenum fix In 2022, still good
  • Did the TSB for hard shifting 3rd to 5th been pretty good, shits 2-4 most often now..
  • Battery still strong
  • Replaced the Hankooks at 50,000 mi with 265/60R18 Cooper Discoverer® AT3 4S'. Quiet, steers easier, MPG stays about the same. The 'Kooks still had good tread, probably would've made it to 60K+, but they were getting a little louder. the Coopers are good in loose sand, I found out: 4Hi, Traction Control off Traction Mgmt SYS. on "Grass/Sand"
My Ranger may take 1st place for all time best vehicle I've owned (out of 23 so far) from my 2000 Focus SE wagon. 146,000 when we traded it in on our 2009 Mariner. Still had the original spark plugs. Still have the Mariner.
The truck is bone stock and I "Drive it like I own it."

my 4g ranger has been nearly flawless for over 150k lol.
the 5g has had a few problems. however, the majority of the issues would have been simple easy to forget things if i had a ford dealer / service center actually care about customers or honor the warranty. the truck is not terrible. i really like it. but it will be my last new ford from here forward unless something major changes. one expects some things to come up with a car or truck. but id wager they also expect more from the builder and dealer than some of us have gotten.

Nothing but problems. I always have to put fuel in it, change the oil, the damn thing gets dirty and and I have to wash it.
Some would say being on this forum is a problem and will cost you money buying never ending accessories. Right @subquark ? ;)
Hang around here long enough and it will be like browsing WebMD. You start noticing you have all the symptoms of some rare disease and convince yourself you've got it.
Stop reading the forum and go enjoy the Ranger instead of worrying about what might happen. :like:

LYMPHOMA & CANCER SUCKS!
Agree Sammy.

I truly agree. It does not discriminate on who it gets. I am a survivor from cancer and I always wondered why did I survive yet it took my beautiful wife. I'm 63 and yet it took her at at 48.

2019 Ranger XLT FX4 (Daily), 1969 Chevy C10 (Weekend Toy)
2019 XLT FX4 with 29000 miles, purchased August 2019. It's my daily driver (17-mile round trip commute). I've replaced the shocks due to personal preference and had no problems until just recently. It's going in for the HVAC temperature blend door problem sometime in the next week. This is the first and only vehicle I've ever purchased an extended warranty for and I'm glad I did. Overall, I do really like the Ranger, but I'll echo the disappointment expressed by others in this thread for the HVAC problem and transmission issues which clearly had some design flaws leading to early failures. I get these are complex vehicles, but I'm a systems engineer in the defense industry with 25+ years of experience. I can understand software issues and minor problems with a bad batch of something from a supplier but design flaws in this day and age have no excuse. It is unfortunate for a truck that is so good in so many ways otherwise.
