Thanks to drooling over an old post by @subquark I got a new Ford pliers wrench.

No more need for 10mm wrenches
It's fascinating (to me) how this thing works and how you let it do the squeezing and you don't have to.

Looks like yours is bigger than mine! LOL, not the first time I've said that! =D

And ixnay on the 10mm talk or they'll be coming for us!

I got the 7 inchers to start. Nice size for most items. It amazes me how little squeeze force it takes for a good grip. Had to replace the icemaker valve in the fridge and run a new line. Really work nice on those chrome compression fittings without leaving marks. I finally figured out if they are turned the right way, the harder you pull to tighten something the tighter the grip gets on it's own. You are the official Ranger Influencer

Now I need another pair ?. More then one bad influencer around here.
Yeah, this is a vicious cycle because I now need the 7 incher (dang, that sounded bad!).

The little mini ones are more cute than practical, but they're great for EDC. The 5 inch ones were good in a few places (toilet bolt perfection).

And these 7 inch ones will likely replace the slip jaw, water pump pliers I've used for 50+ years.

Since I'll inevitably order them, I think I'll also get one of the Cobra style, but not sure of the size yet.

Home Depot had the best price on the 7 inch chrome with comfort grip. Those grips are so comfortable and isolate the tender fingers from cold steel. I will wait for your review of the cobra ones :inspect: before I buy them.

Hey guys, if I go missing for a few days, it's not because I don't want to be here. I'm expecting that Jeff Bezos will swing by Portsmouth in his mega-yacht and take me for a spin! =)

I just got these from him, so I know he's grateful (although I was mighty peeved when Prime Amazon TV flashed a message the other night saying you gotta pay $2.99 a month if you don't want ads ...). =(

Heads Up: this is @DukeCanBuildit warning - if you're triggered by lots of photos, look away now. =p

1. Oil Wrench

Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002SR53A

several members specifically mentioned this oil wrench
20240201_075735.webp

there are many kinds, even with spring-loaded fingers
20240201_075752.webp

someone said they put on a 3/8" extension and don't need to remove the fender liner, I'll see in the Spring
20240201_080941.webp

it is pretty heavy and seems well made ... (lol, just noticed my toes in these pics, good thing they're out of focus! =D

2. "Tamper proof" taillight screws

Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SBYYQ7K
from a forum post, I haven't actually seen if they fit, but no doubt they will

bah, I really wanted snake (spanner) drive but couldn't find it as a button head (well, I found them in quantities of 500! I did contemplate making anti-theft kits but figured the couple of bucks to mail them wouldn't be attractive) so even though I have a lowly XL without BLIS or LED and my tail lights are way cheaper than fancy-pants Rangers, I'll still swap these out
=p

and you know my no-LED motto: "Real men hit sh!t in the night because they can't see anything"

3. Oh-crap-get-me-outta-here tool

Amazon link to tool: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G6C18AG
Amazon link to visor clip: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UUSV2B8
resqme website link: https://resqme.com/product/resqme/

I checked and Soupie has tempered side windows, none of that nancy laminated baloney, so these should work. like 99% of the Ranger crap I buy, they'll never get used (but I do use the heck out of my bed step, side steps, BedRug, floor mats, and seat covers) =)

I need a tripod, what a shaky mess! decent lanyard with rubber tip
20240201_161922.webp

got the visor mounts but not sure if that's where these will end up
20240201_160813.jpg

they come with o-rings if you need to make it tighter on the visor. it also comes with tiny tie wraps for putting on your headrest, mirror, or even suicide knob as in Soupie's case!
=D

here's a before (although you can see a previous punch mark)

What a saint! A toe-free world, I bet even Greta is happy about that one. =D

I was thinking I may have a solution to all my crap, but I'd end up filling it up with crap too!
