Ford Motor Co.'s decision to reduce all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup production is affecting 1,400 jobs in Dearborn. Meanwhile, it's hiring nearly 900 people in Wayne for assembly of Bronco SUVs and Ranger midsize trucks.
The Dearborn automaker in a Friday news release said it’s seeking to balance production to meet customer demand. It says it expects growth for Lightning sales this year, but it’s less than previously anticipated. The production cut is the latest pullback by the automaker in the EV space.

So, there's demand for hybrids & Rangers, eh? Do we dare hope that Ford wakes up to the fact that a hybrid Ranger would be a very viable product?
One can hope.... a plugin hybrid with 30+ miles range on it would be really nice.

Imagine the camping capabilities of a truck that has a built in battery system.

What is essentially a house and starting battery when off grid.

The new Tacoma will have a built in >2kw invertor.

That's enough to run blankets, diesel heaters, fridge, lights etc. (for most use cases)

ive seen one lighting out in the wild. i think more folks would have bought them if ford actually had them on the lots and the price wasnt clown shoes high. ford has priced its products out of many buyers reach esp. with all the inflation..

The dealer I bought the Bronco from had 12 Lightnings the other day when I stopped by to get the oil changed. I was checking them out when a sales person walked up and asked if I was interested. I told him I had a reservation for one within the 1st 2 minutes of the reveal but canceled after 18 months . When Ford finally said that I could go place an order they said my trim had gone up by $12k and it wasn't available anyway, I would have to go up to the next trim level which was $20k more. I told him good luck selling them. They had a lot longer line of MachE's also.

I looked at the 3 Ford dealers here and they each have about 20 in stock. Most still have a $7500 markup ?

GM's EV programs are literally going up in flames...they're pulling the plug as well...VW, Honda and Toyota are all sending up alarms that EVs are not sustainable...
