Hi all
I'm interested in buying some lights to fill in some of the dark unlit areas to the sides of the headlights. I would prefer if it did not blind oncoming drivers because I don't want to be flashed. I have an XLT with the fog lights but they just dont cut it. Might upgrade those at another time. There're so many brands and many of them are crazy expensive (Rigid) and I'm just not sure they're worth the money to me.

Anyway, open to suggestions and hopefully some pics. Thanks!

I have a pair of diode dynamics SLF fog light bulbs (yellow) for sale in marketplace section or whatever it's called, unused. Traded the truck before I installed them and they won't fit the Bronco ?.. easiest way to get more legal light.

I actually just ordered some LED bulbs for the fogs, but if they suck I might take you up on this.

Where is this unlit spot you're talking about? Inside the headlamp? The grill?

I bought the SS3 Pro SAE yellow (with amber backlights) fog lights from diode dynamics during their black Friday sale. So far I really like them. It wasn't a kit specifically for the ranger, just lights (came with mounting hardware), and I bought the wiring harness from them. It made the install super fast.

If you picture a dark road in front of you, I'm referring to the areas to the left and right of the low beam headlights. The sides.

My xlt halogens have pretty pathetic output in my opinion. I may upgrade the housings to something with a projector at some point. For now I'm looking for maybe a combo wide setup that I mount near the grill or in that opening just before the radiator.

I live in a very rural, dark area in the mountains. The more light the better.

Wow, NAILED IT. This is the exact location and style I was thinking of. So how exactly did you mount these? Did you have to drill? Do you mind if I ask what the sale price was you got? Lastly, any pics of how they light up the road at night?

What kind of lights are closest together in the radiator opening? The brighter ones.

They're two pairs of Rigid D-Series Pro...spot and flood...the holes I mounted them to already exist on the top side of the bumper grill opening (covered by plastic plugs)...

Sorry for late reply. They are mounted using the holes where the plastic clips are in that opening. Just popped out two of the four clips from the top of the opening. It really worked well for it not to be a kit for the ranger. The wiring harness really made it easy. Have to get the four pin harness if you get the lights with backlighting. As for price, I don't remember exactly. They had 30% off sale if I remember correctly. Around $300

I don't have any pic of them on the road, but I have them lighting up my yard. They don't shine out very far, but they shine wide, which is what I wanted. And as far as I know you can use them on the road. I do and I haven't been flashed. This time of year it's dark to and from work and I drive a dark and curvy road that's filled with deer.

Is that your OEM grill? I just replaced mine and it a bit different. Ford emblem in the middle is the same, but has much larger slots on the main front screen area. Doesn't much matter now since I installed a new one with Ford spelled out and it's more like yours now - no big gaps.
