Often wondered about Ford watching these forums. While my truck has been stellar, a couple of members here have had a few minor complaints. Never any sort of response or input from Ford.

Yet check out this post from the Maverick forum. (Not a member there. This item hit my news feed.) If I was one of you guys with truck issues I'd join the Maverick Forum and flat out ask Ford why they aren't in this forum and responding to issues. Probably won't accomplish anything, but it's a way to squeeze them a bit and do so publicly.

Or is it a fake account set up to look like Ford? I don't know. But figured I'd share it.

Prior to purchasing my Ranger I had a 2020 F-150.I had an issue with it that I was having problems getting resolved.A Ford rep, who monitored the Ford Forum, reached out to me and made arrangements with a dealership to try and resolve my problem, which they did.I received several calls from the Ford rep to make sure my problem was corrected and that I was satisfied with the outcome. Many thanks to her for her efforts on my behalf

I saw something similar on the 6G forum.
"Hey, this id xxxx from Ford customer service. If I can help in any way, let me know."
After a few questions and comments, there was no response from said Ford rep.

Woooooow. I'm surprised they have a presence there...

I'm on the 6g bronco forum where they have a presence as well.... and it's an absolute joke. Its a poor attempt at damage control more than anything else.

I have DM's with a couple people on here who quietly work at the Mothership on various teams but you're right, I don't think I've ever seen an official Ford account posting in here. There are a couple Ranger forums, maybe they've focused on another one?

They simple don't care about the Ranger or its owners , they just don't , especially now that it's the "middle"child...
Unfortunately I wholeheartedly believe your comment to be true.

Sucks.

I kind of understand why Ford does not care. When shopping for the Ranger, everyone (dealers, people online, car reviewers, etc) would always say "Why don't you just get an F150 for the same price, it's bigger and better."

Even though you could barely get an XL single cab F150 for what I paid for my ranger AND the fact that I was purposefully avoiding a bigger truck. Everyone's mindset seems to be "Why would I buy (Insert smaller vehicle) for XX price when (Insert bigger vehicle) is XX or just slightly more?" Which I don't really agree with or even think is good. Too many tall and giant vehicles on the road now. Don't buy a Suburban if you don't need a third row that fits adults but I digress.

I messaged Ford what I believed was a very simple question on the Ranger6G forum and got the canned answer.
“Hello Steve, please keep in contact with your preferred dealership. They will be in the best position to address your questions and concerns at this time.
XXXXX
Ford Social Media Team”.

Absolutely useless. What’s even more useless is expecting “my preferred”dealer to know the answer.

Same thing happened to me when I first started looking at a Ranger, they directed me to the F150.
But with F150 rebates at the time they were close in cost. I like you didn't want a full size though.

Agreed. One can NOT get an F150 for the price of my Ranger, unless you order the most stripped bare bones F150 ever built. When I was truck shopping any F150 that I built on the Ford website was $11K more than my Lariat Ranger Tremor. The only extras I put on an XLT F150 were the V8, max tow and max cargo. Otherwise minimum XLT.

Bought Ranger Lariat and got all the extras that I wanted.

Edit: added the FX4 to the F150 as well.

im not saying ford does not creep on forums but from a purely bizz and money sense i doubt they give a flip about past vehicles. The 5g rangers are obsolete and the sale of them brings no more money to Fo Mo Co. The sales and service of the 5g trucks may bring money to dealers. And if ones luck enough to have a warranty issue that will be taken care of - the 5g trucks cost Fo Mo Co money in warranty labor. So, id guess Ford cares just enough that forum members might be future buyers of current / future models.

My hypothesis is it's a volume decision purely because they're going to need to justify paying someone to sit at a computer terminal all day doing this. Unfortunately the effort does not pay dividends for most companies unless their social teams are deployed strategically (I.e. following consumer data and not strictly trends.) I think back to Carmigo and how they had a push on forums a while back - but they obviously came to decide it wasn't worth their effort back in July.

NOW - why do they not just "Add Ranger5g.com" to some poor soul's list of duties? I haven't the foggiest of clues.

There is one on the F-150 Gen 14 forums also. Some folks have received some "help" from them, but some dealers get a little peeved when they are contacted by Ford....
