My data is a few years old, but your Ford dealer's parts guy should have the spring rate for each factory spring ... at least they used to. Assuming they do, that will give you the comparison your are looking for.

So, nobody knows the relative stiffness of the tremor vs other leafs? Is there a scale used to indicate that metric?
Not that I'm aware of...

Mostly it is done using seat dyno.

The person I bought my Tremor leafs from upgraded to the Icons I believe it was.

I spoke with him again later and he said that the stock Tremor springs rode better and performed about as well.

I am 100% happy with my Tremor leaf/Bilstein combo, though forestry service roads are about as extreme as my truck ever sees.
Funny you say this. It sounds like the ICON was more of a downgrade from the Tremor Leaf spring. If anything he might have gotten extra height if he has all the leafs in the packs, but the fact it rides stiffer than Tremor springs makes me laugh a bit

I have the Icon stage 6 (2.5 front coilover set to 2 inch lift, tubular UCA's, adjustable 2.5 shocks (set on 1 for daily driving), and leafs set up with option 2). The leafs raised the rear around 1 3/8" after the 2" leveling on the front. So now I have a slight rake (AGAIN). This may be a plus as I plan on towing a travel trailer when I retire in 3 years.

Put the shocks on first and they helped with some of the ride quality but, It still had a very stiff/jarring ride (like riding in the back of a school bus). I know it's a truck. After I installed the leafs and compared to the factory FX4 setup, the ride quality is night and day. Not the cheapest way to go but well worth it for me.

One thing I forgot. When I installed the leafs I had to disassemble them to switch the leaf out for option 2. There was very little grease on the pads on the ends. I did add a liberal amount of grease as I reassembled them. So far no squeaks. ?

I’ve never driven with the Tremor springs, but I can say the Icon are a big improvement from the factory FX4 springs. I swapped over to the Icons with the extra leaf installed (also did the Eibach Pro Truck 2R coilovers and rear shocks). These changes both brought the rear back up to stock height even with the shell, roof rack, and Decked drawers in the back and improved the ride on washboarded roads immensely.

That tends to happen when you put some space between the leaf spring and bump stops alone. I'm actually curious on the overall load you have including the shell, rack and drawers. I already suspect you have more than that in there

Some discussion of the weight of my setup here. Beyond the setup itself, some recovery gear and maybe some camping stuff, depending on the trip.

I am supporter of the teary that these truck love a little weight in the rear. Unload your truck, drive it around and load the rear with just a couple hundred pounds and drive it.

I put to icons springs in the rear without the added leaf. They do ride much better than the stock spring but lifted the rear more than advertised. And also the squeak from them is very annoying to say the least. I will need to remove them and install leaf cushions under the spring that has none..
over all I would not purchase them again and when I reached out to the business that I purchased them from they said they never had any complaints.. total BS from what I have seen..

oh they have had complaints for sure. the fix is drilling and adding tip inserts to the second and last leafs and thicker shims between the springs. that fixes it. but that cuts into their bottom line.

global leafs are a lesser expensive , softer, quiet fix.
just get the poly bushings from dobinsons when you do it.

I have been running with the ICON RTX progressive leaf springs for over 2 years now.....Never a squeak or peep.....
Originally I installed with the ICON 2.0 VS aluminum series shocks ..after a trip to the Socal deserts, I deemed that setup to be too soft...Upon my return I kicked it up a notch....Replaced the ICON 2.0 rear with ICON 2.5 CDCV piggybacks.....another trip. to the desert, and could not be any happier with my choices....the key is matching the soft ICON leafsprings with the firmer 2.5 digressive shocks....

You are correct that I believe the Tremor springs ride nicer, but it was actually the Old Man Emu 600 pound springs that I replaced them with.

To the OP, if you aren't going to tow or haul I would 100% recommend a set of Tremor take-offs. They do good on the road and off, typically at a good price. When I was comparing 600 pound springs the Deavers were a much smoother ride on the road and pure magic in the dirt. I imagine the stock weight Deaver springs would be pretty awesome for your situation. I can't really speak to ICON, I had to stop spring-swapping at some point!

One big thing with the particular springs you have, they require a constant load of 660 lbs to even be considered close to comfortable. If unloaded or barley any weight is in the back then it will be uncomfortable no matter what. Many seem to miss that for some reason.

That's really good info, thanks. I should probably change my profile picture to include all the weight I carry around.

more specifically, it is about matching the suspension setup to the driver, load and usage.

If someone else put the OG setup on their truck, they might love it.

This doesn't mean your setup is right or wrong, or that anyone setup is, it only means that getting suspension dialed in is very specific.

If we/you/I look at race cars and trucks no 2 vehicles have the same suspension setup. they are all different - heck, look at the suspension differences in tacoma, rangers, gm twins and frontiers. different methodologies for each vehicle, based on the primary use of the customer base - a good middle of the pack targeting.
