You realize who does this shit... city people.

Should really ban them folk from the country, for real.
Wild assumption.

I spent three years working in agriculture throughout the Midwest, where I met a great many prolific litterers who will tell you to your face they see no need to change. Running non-opped trucks on farm diesel, celebrating any form of disobedience. Self described "Outlaws" ...with blue lives matter stickers. ?

There are shitheads everywhere. However the city folk are the furthest away from the wilderness areas in question, so pretty wild to accuse them exclusively.

Being a Ham Radio Op and having worked for NOAA and FEMA (Cert. Storm Chaser) in Emr we carry everything for a rescue, health and safety related kits, chainsaws, Lights, when I roll up on someone that their truck is stuck in a snowbank or up to the frame in mud or car is up to the hood in water, I will always bust out the chains or yank strap for $100 or they can call a recovery company for $500 to $1000 I am not gonna put my equipment under stress for free, F*** that! some of us have spent a lot of time & money for these situations, getting your self into a situation then getting back out are 2 different things LOL you never know how bad it is until you try and get back out LOL then its too late, you just have to be "overkill ready" for anything!
I have not had this truck in a really bad situation "yet" but I have had in the past Chevy, Jeep, Toyota and Rams in the eye of a hurricane, something tells me already this truck will shine :)

LOL its normally the city shitheads we have to hook up to and pull off the trail, I have never had to hook up to a country buba or good old boy Yet

I've seen all manner of lunacy on trails and personally I'm not willing to place blame on one demographic over any other. Also, I really dont mind "stressing my gear" to help someone in need but maybe that's the immigrant in me.

I grew up in the country where I could go drink beers and hack trails any time. Now, living in the burbs, I'm many hours from the national forests and have to plan trips thoroughly. All I can say for sure is, it ain't me (any more)!

All the asshats and their trash in the beautiful outdoors absolutely infuriates me.
same. some folks are just shit bags. really burns me to see careless trash in camp spots or on trails.

i wish the states would adopt a crazy high fine for liter like one cal 10k or jail. would stop some of them.

well I am in New York but its not what your thinking, I am way Upstate, we are in the woods almost every day and mud and rivers have become second nature to us unlike guys that live in a city and mud or trail 4 times a year :)

and so has the increased use of off road vehicles, according to this article from the Phoenix area, I'm just amazed at how many of those side bys I'm seeing these days.

Hi D,

Around Green Valley it sure has based on the numbers of them on the road in the area....

I call them tortoise killers as they bound across the desert in full cactus smashing mode and crush the tortoise in their burrows. They are supposed to stick to back roads but little enforcement in this area...

best,
Phil

Yes very sad for our national lands that there are too many idiots that don't respect them at all. Unfortunately there is not enough enforcement or people to enforce usage areas and the bad idiots don't seem to get caught. I have done a lot of hiking in my life and have seen some pretty sad things and they are only getting way worse. There is not enough deterrent for these knuckleheads'. Hopefully karma will catch up to them all!!!!! Please pack out what you pack or take in everywhere.

nah, it's not like that.

it's not city people dumping mattresses in the woods. it's the locals doing that $hit. I bet if you had a good way of identifying who's causing all the problems, it'd be equal numbers of locals and equal numbers of city people because selfish people who don't care live everywhere.
