When do you need them?
I'm afraid I'm just in the market for one wheel. I'm not sure how the TPMS works but I'm assuming it can be transferred from one wheel to another. I totally understand you would want to sell all four, that makes sense. Thanks though.

Was going to sell it for $250 all for wheels and tires.

That sounds like a good deal. I have a question however, what happened to the TPMS that came with the four tires?

Thanks for the info.
Regarding the OEM choice I've really got no complaints with them. The price was reasonable as well.
Man you are in california. I have 4 of that exact same tire with 20k on them.

I moved them to the new wheels and tires that I'm using now, about three years ago

I have a question for those more knowledgeable than me. I hit a curb hard while turning and it looks like my tire is toast and the rim is damaged (superficialy?). My Ford Ranger is a 2020 Lariat with 4x4. The Ranger has 31750 miles on it. The tires are stock Hankook Dynapro ATM (RF10) All Terrain 265/65R17 112T.

The question is do I need to replace only the damaged passenger front tire or both front tires or all four tires? Obviously if I had to only replace the damaged tire that would be great but I don’t want to take any shortcuts as safety for my family is the priority. I also tow a small 20 foot travel trailer three or four times a year if this has any relevance.

Thanks for reading this and for the advice.

Hi Winston,

Just to let you know Ford does test wheels for curb impact, and your wheel damage is very likely only cosmetic....

Best,
Phil

A cat ran onto the road. I instinctively swerved to avoid it. I hit the curb right where a storm drain was. The surface in front of the drain was a little lower than the rest of the road.

Have an appointment with American Tires on Wednesday to get four new tires on. I just went with the OEM again. Total with insurance or whatever they call it was $980.

Next I went to the dealership to see how much a new wheel would be. The quoted me $950 and it's a special order. That isn't going to happen right now. I'll ask American Tires on Wednesday if they can look at the wheel for any issues. Makes me nervous but if they say it looks good I'll live with the damage. Honestly I think it's probably cosmetic. My only concern is how will they determine if it is damaged?

I guess I'll research getting the wheel fixed for the cosmetic issues if that all it turns out to be. I've seen some identical looking 3rd party alternatives in the $300 to $400 range but who know about the quality? I had the guy at American Tires look up the cost of a OEM wheel and he came back with $350 and 4 day wait. Is that possible? He tried to sell me on some 3rd party options. I'm wondering if he just gave me the price for the 3rd party option while internally giving me an eye roll.

All in all I wished that I had just punched Mr Tinkles ticket and sent him to the promised land.
Personally I say well done for not hitting the cat. All life is precious.

Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming you mean if I take it to the dealership they can test it?

Just back from American Tires. Job done. They ran an alignment check and all is well, however they did say if there had been a problem they couldn't have fix, something I think about a lock. I should make an appointment for the dealership to check out the suspension next. The damaged tire has been put on the back passenger side now.

Hi Winston,

No...Dealer would be of no help, JMO. I just wanted to let you and other folks know there is more to testing wheels, than do they look pretty...

Best,
Phil
