@craw169 Please get a good set of winter tires and then some all season tires like the yokohama geolandar G015 or any of the motomaster tires in stock at the local canadian tire.

I'm not too far from you and we can see ice and snow for 6 months a year. I think it justifies a good set of winter tires especially since you don't off-road.

Kal tire has a special on nokian nordman 7 winter tires : https://www.kaltire.com/en/tires/no...refv3=17&prefn4=tire_width&prefv4=265&start=1

thank you for the advice. i work from home and don't travel far in the winter. i hate the rush to get tires switched over in fall and spring and then storing the tires. if i was in a position where i had to drive to work everyday in the winter or would take long highway trips, i would definitely get true winter tires. but for me, i feel it is not necessary and not worth the switching hassle. the only time i drive in the winter is when i want to and if conditions are bad i just stay put. i know 2 good sets of tires works out well in the long run, but i also hope to get a 6th gen ranger in a year or 2.

my final update, i ordered BF Goodrich Trail Terrain tires from costco today and have appointment October 1 to get them installed. Thank you everyone for your suggestions. the falken tires were not in Canadian Tire in my size. i know i could order tires from an online place like kaltire but then i have to arrange and pay for installation separately....so ordering from costco and just going and having them installed (with the warranty and nitrogen fill) made it easier for me and i am a little lazy. i think i can install these tires with the white lettering inside (i have the black appearance package and i am not sure if i want to white letters out). a lot of recommendations for the falken and if getting them ordered and installed was as easy i would probably have gone that route.

once i get them i will send pictures and let you all know what i think over time.

Welcome aboard!...relatively new here myself!...great group here!...I have had 1 experience with BF tires...not a bad one....I found traction was good....I ran them for one winter...no real complaints (not sure if you plan to run them winter?)...I live in British Columbia by the way!....the second winter traction dropped off substantially....I ended up just getting a dedicated winter tire and wheels!...my one and only real complaint with them was that they pick up and throw every rock they touch!!....drive safe have fun!!??

Pretty sure one of these will be my next tires.
Anyone seen info about when the Road and Trail will be available to customers? I had narrowed down to the Discoverer AT3 4S but I’m not in a hurry so now I’m wondering if I should wait to learn more about those.

I have been looking and there are a few online retailers that claim to have them. I am going to wait until @Discount Tire gets them.

Saw 31x9.50 Super Swamper on 1Gen Bronco this weekend. Looked about perfect for that build. Never seen a set of Swampers that "small"??

My understanding is that the problem was Ford recommended a tire pressure that was too low to mask suspension issues. The tire itself wasn’t to blame. That being said after a lot of research I chose the Firestone Destination at/2 and am very happy in the snow, on the highway, in the rain and light off-roading. I went with 255/70/17. It’s just about the lightest tire in its class.
The low rear tire pressure on Explorers was part of it and the recall also involved new tire pressure stickers saying 30 psi for the rear tires instead of 26. Still, the only real problems were with Firestone All-Terrains in one specific size (P235/75-15) made at one specific factory (you could tell from the serial numbers) but they ended up recalling all of them regardless of vehicle and size.
I was driving my first Ranger at the time, a '99 that came with the offending Firestones, and the Ford dealer put on a free set of Goodyears.
Had two sets of Firestone Destination AT/2's on my old Sport Trac and liked them a lot, may get them for the Ranger next time.

Had the Firestones on our '99 Expedition and really liked them. Waited a long time to get the replacements (Michelin) and hated them on that vehicle. Would have killed to get the Firestones back.

One of my Firestones did wear out prematurely despite regular rotation and checking the air. The other three were fine. I had it replaced pro-rated under the tire warranty at a Firestone store before the recall. Made me wonder if it would have exploded if it was on an Explorer.
The offending tires had serial numbers beginning with the letters VD. Being a smart-ass, I call the Ford dealer, ask for service, and say, "My tires got VD on them".
Service guy doesn't miss a beat and says, "You should be more careful where you drive."

hi new member here...thank you for accepting me!

i searched previous posts but i wanted some more up to date info if possible.

i have a 2020 ranger lariat fx4 with stock 265/60/r18 hankook tires. i only have 32000 kms (19000 miles) on it and my front tire has a screw in it and it is near the edge of the tire and i doubt it is repairable. just my luck that i bought out the lease and HAD a road hazard tire warranty before i discovered it.

the slow leak is slowly getting faster and i would like new tires before winter starts. i like the ride and low noise of the stock hankook tires. i do think they look a little small for the truck. i have never been off road in the truck but would like tires tough enough that if i did do a little light off roading they would stand up to it, but my main concern is nice quiet ride on the highway, good winter performance and similar fuel economy to what i get now.

i think my tires are too worn to just replace the single leaking tire and so i think i need at least a pair, but i don't want to have 2 new tires and 2 older tires..so i think i just need to go for 4 new tires. budget does matter but is not the biggest factor.

i love the look of rangers with the tremor package and the big tires but i don't want to lift the truck or end up with significantly lower fuel economy or a tippy truck.

i read on cartalk website that BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO are the best tires when budget is not a concern for a ranger with 18 inch wheels. can anyone confirm this?

for anyone who replaced tires on your ranger or are thinking about it, what would you recommend? i live in Canada and in a area with moderately bad winters (Ottawa, Canada).

thank you for any suggestions.
falken wildpeak at3w's are a great tire, and should do well in the snow as well. KO2's are good for offroading but they wear very poorly and quickly and as far as I have heard (granted I am a florida man so take this with a grain of salt) they are not very good for snow and ice. all that aside an all season is gonna probably do better than an all terrain or max traction/mud terrain tire. (tho it won't look as cool)
