How much hp and torque can the drive train on the ranger take?

How quick do we think the 10r80 will grenade when you throw this much power through it? I mean, stock they grenade... Ijs...

It should be good for awhile.. or not.. roll of the dice ?

The 10r80 is rated for 800ft lbs if you believe the engineers, the 10r60 in the Bronco is rated for 600, and the 10r120 in the stupor doodies 1200.

Again, but when the tranny grenades itself under standard loads what's going to happen when you use that skinny pedal to send all those new torques into it....

Not my bank account t so I say go for it.

I just cranked 0ver 13k miles and I've started to save for a new tyranny... ? ? ?

Just because I don't understand why, doesn't mean they shouldn't build it out and blow up the engine and tyranny... I would laugh at the sti guys when they would spend months and months along with thousands upon thousands to build the motor in their car only to not beef up the cv's or driveshafts. Meaning on the first launch the stress put on the parts damaged them and further daily usage caused catastrophic failures... Generally setting them back thousands in repairs...

It is 800 N/m, which is 590 lb/ft.

10R60 - 600 N/m - 440 lb/ft

10R140 - 1400 N/m - 1030 lb/ft

Sorry, we don't use that European measuring thing that is easy to calculate.

Well, Ford did when they picked the names for the transmissions.

Well, Farley should fire the person who decided that.

10r590 would have sounded way betterer than 10r80.

So.. Ford put a tranny in its big bad one ton that isn't even rated for the torque the truck produces?

Good jerb, ford.

Allegedly there is a running change and they now have a 10R180, but I haven't really found much official on that.

1030 used to be enough until they started getting dumb with torque outputs. Of course, they limit the hell out of the torque in lower gears anyways, so it is probably fine, but someone will figure out a way to program around that and start launching hard parts.

Lighter and cheaper....not necessarily better.

I'll stick with my 2020 and its 10R80 for now.
