Why wouldn’t they fit 4x2?
They will fit BUT for my "plain Jane" XL 4 x 2 Ranger they are a bit pricey compared to the STX600 running boards.;) Also, this item is made to order. Due to high volume of orders, please expect 12 weeks for production, powder coating, packaging, and shipping. :frown:

Since when does a car look like a Ranger?;) But for $700 I cannot pull the trigger and buy them
when I can get the STX600 for about ~1/3 the price!:frown:

Ya I don’t care about steps I needed sliders and I like the look of them better. But like u said you don’t need sliders you need steps. The fact that mine can act as Steps for my lady is a plus. Also the rear kick outs are great to stand on when loading.

Both "Rock Sliders" and wide "Running Boards" will function equally well on preventing door dings on the Ranger;)

@DIYAndy Just curious if you have taken into consideration, that if someone does accidentally (like a little kid or a gust of wind) bump into your "Door ding protector with payback running boards", how will your insurance company handle your deliberate intention of doing more damage to another persons car/truck ? How will the other persons insurance company handle it ? When a door ding (that may have been able to be repaired using paintless dent repair) turns into replacing the entire door skin and the labor/parts involved with that, an insurance company may opt not to pay due to your "modifications". I'm not knocking your mod, just something for you to consider. I HATE door dings just as much as another person, but as my life motto goes: $hit Happens :)

Good questions and I have some questions for you - Having ONLY just wide Running Boards/Rock Sliders/Sidesteps/Nerf bars should help/prevent the careless door dingers from doing damage.
These truck accessories, in theory, should also be against the law? They might cause damage to the other careless/lazy/uncaring motorist that like to ding vehicle doors.;)
Putting an "ornament bar/tubing" on a Ranger running board with fancy, dull pointed, chrome acorn nuts is not against the law! What qualifies as a dangerous accessory added to a vehicle or Ford Ranger?
I have seen many vehicles, on the highway, that are more dangerous than chrome acorn nuts - do you remember the Ford Pinto?
Motorcycle members adds pointed/spike accessories all the time on their cycles and gear.
Heavy truckers put sharp pointed spikes on the wheel lug nuts and there is no law against it in the FREE country of the USA.
Who dictates what I can or cannot do to spruce up or add ornaments/acorn nuts to my Ranger?
You guess it - nobody and this includes the insurance companies.;)
I really should remove the word "payback" from this thread because it scares a lot of people but on the other hand I won't. :)

Also, I might add, that if vehicle design and safety was left up to the "for profit", greedy, insurance companies then all Americans would probably be forced to only buy a $100,000 vehicle, with sky high insurance premiums, which only has 1 MPG and a maximum speed of 10 miles per hour. :frown:There is a Federal government office that regulates vehicle safety and design - National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) If you have a problem with my chrome vehicle ornaments on my Ranger, then please do give them a call.;)

I've been thinking exactly the same...I need a rock slider for overlanding and it will pay back dividends to offending door swingers...I have this to cover my ass and serves as a step quite well:)

BTW auto body specialist will be doing "high fives" and saying "Cha Ching" when they see this Pic.
Always cover your A** from tailgaters! :sunglasses:
Solid steel HF triple ball hitch with recovery hook - that "could be against the law?";)
