But, you sir, are the expert!:inlove: When I get some time, I’m going to spend more time checking out your YouTube channel. So much I need to learn!
Thanks Tracy but I am just learning from my mistakes. I put the seeds in and wish for something to grow. My garden is an overgrown mess now from neglect but it keeps on providing good eats. The fear of getting started and failure is what holds most people back from doing things and I am just trying to influence others to jump in to whatever they want to do or learn without fear of failure and learn from your mistakes then move on. This was a couple days ago.

Your garden looks amazing! I have learned a lot this season. I love it & there’s no place I’d rather be than in my garden or greenhouses.
I wish you the best on your eye surgery. :)

Not eating tonight buy made a batch of our favorite dilly beans from a 1970s USDA canning guide.

Grandma Duke used to can dill beans - turned my nose up at them as a kid. I bet they’re delicious and crispy as anything Ed.

Finally some meat to go with the fresh garden veggies.

I can't eat many more zoodles. Froze another 15 bags of beans today after picking them. Not much canning this year with the price of lids so freezing whatever we can.

Windows open and ac off finally. What a wonderful day after weeks of hot rainy weather.

Lacto fermenting some gerkins, beans, carrot chunks from the ugly carrots, and garlic with a little fresh dill. Now to sit and stare at it for 2 weeks.

Well…since we’re sharing. I have a new toy. Going to be busy, busy, busy. Dehydrating some fruit today. Orange slices were done first.

Good tool to have. We dehydrate a lot of the Principe drying tomatoes. They rehydrate great and have awesome flavor. I make a lot of zucchini snacks also

We find the 1/8 inch slices of zucchini with Krazy salt are the best. The yellow weren't as good. I started using a pepper grinder to apply rhe Krazy salt evenly in another video. Have fun.

I'll just post a pic of tonight's dinner to bump this. Crabapple smoked ribs, red garden potatoes and fresh picked onions. Some fresh tomato and cuke slices with dill. Definitely garden to table time of the year. Nothing cooks like a Weber kettle.

Getting ready to grind our own flours and cornmeal. Getting cool enough to light up the oven and start baking bread ?‍?.

Looks good Ed - I did some pork ribs tonight and should have posted pics but I got carried away and ate them all up. ? Next time.

3 hrs smoking with a dry rub
2-1/2 hours in a beer braise in the smoker (smoke off, heat only)
1 hr smoking with lots of sauce

Can’t wait to see your bread!

Can you make “00” flour with that mill? Great for pizza dough!

I don't think so. This is a burr mill and is supposed to go to 400 mesh but I have my doubts. I think the 00 is stone ground from a soft and hard wheat mix. We actually quit using the 00 because we settled on a hearty crispy crust. Still haven't fired this up to use yet. Trying to figure out how to clean it first and waiting for a 30 amp 120v plug to arrive. I'm going to start with corn first because I love corn muffins and tortillas. My wife wants grits and polenta. I bought dent corn, and hard red and white wheat berries to play with next for sour dough bread. Going to try oatmeal, rice, durum wheat (semolina), and beans eventually. Hoping to start growing my own corn and wheat in the future. Whole wheat berries will last for years, but after grinding are only good for 4 days. That's why commercial flours have so many preservatives and additives. With the Ukraine wheat stores being destroyed I think this may be a good time to prepare for reduced wheat supplies for a couple years. Plus this should be healthier.
