Broken Fog Light - XLT Tremor

Anyone shatter a fog light before? Just got back from a 5700mi road trip, and noticed this. Not sure how this happened, I do not see any damage around the light other than the shattered light itself. Do you think this will be covered under the 36k warranty?

I have an appointment to get my mic not working with carplay looked at next week, I will asked the dealer then, but figured if it happened to me, probably happened to someone in the past.

Looks like you got lucky and took a direct hit on the fog like. Could have been much worse, could have been a nasty paint chip or taken out the headlight or windshield. You wanted to replace those OEM fogs with some nice aftermarket anyway right? ?

You have zero chance at getting that covered by warranty. Though you may try getting it covered by your comprehensive insurance, depending on the deductible.

I did also get a nice dinger on the hood at the beginning of the trip as well, oh well, it was bought to be used not stay nice.

I did make sure to send the wife a set the nice set of diode dynamics to show her what it was going to cost to fix.

Bummer, but yeah just go with Diode's and you'll be much happier. I have the SS3 Pro Fogs in Amber, love them. I will say if you have a leveled truck, you might need to get creative with some spacers/washers to get them aimed correctly.

You know what my deductible is? $2,500.

You know what my insurance cost me everything month? $49...

Insurance is for catastrophic event to cover major losses. Not to fix a bumper, or a side mirror, or a fog light, or a door, or a hood.

Ouch - that hurts just to look at!

On my Focus, Ford covered cracked lenses, likely due to heat. I was surprised about that. I doubt this will be covered.
And though it may seem like a good reason to upgrade, the OEM replacement may not be all that bad.

Generally I agree with you, but generally glass claims do not seem to have an impact on insurance rates, at least in my experience. I think technically it is made of glass, but lights are definitely written as an exceptions in my policy. So whatever I get will be paid with cash and all will be well.

Not covered under warranty. Chance are a car in front of you kicked a rock up that busted it. That said you could attempt to go through your insurance since it might be covered under the glass coverage(if you have that coverage)

I had a 2000's vintage Ranger at one point.
I lost a fog light under similar circumstances.
Good ol' Alberta spreads gravel for winter traction. not sand. So you can understand the results.

Anyways, the lights replacement value was in the triple digits heading north of 500. Hows that grab you by the short and curlies?
Who in their right mind makes a fog light, that low to the ground out of glass?

Check offer up or eBay. I had some fogs on the forum and offer up when I replaced my XLT halogens with Lariat LEDs but I just threw them out because they were sitting in the garage. Maybe put a wanted to buy in the lighting marketplace here and see if anyone still has their take offs. If I still had mine I’d just send them to you for whatever shipping cost so they wouldn’t go to waste.
