I have a 2019 Lariat FX4 with 46,000 miles. I have a vibration or shake or shudder at highway speeds and its feels like its in the rear. So today I jacked up the truck and checked for play in the wheels and on both the rear wheels there is a little play at the 12 and 6 position. Is this bad wheel bearings?

often times you can hear a bad bearing. sorta sounds like someone stomping on a beer / soda can. maybe trying spinning the tire while the trucks off the ground and see if you hear anything odd.

Can't really see much in the video, but if you were pushing and pulling on top of tire, the axles will move in and out a little as they have c-clips that retain them in the differential. That would be normal. Might also want to check your wheel lug nut torque as well.

Chances are that would be normal with axle going in and out. If you were holding the top and bottom and had it going up and down then yes you would have a bad bearing. What I suspect is an issue with the tires being out of balance. Looks like the OEM tires. Probably a good time to start looking as the Hankook's are rated for 50,000 miles.

I'm just shocked you got 50K out of the stock tires. I'm looking at my tires that have maybe a couple thousand miles left and I'm at 25K. Non-FX tires.

The Hankook's are totally different than the Bridgestone's. On my 2016 Frontier I managed to get about 55,000 out of the Factory Hankook's and they are also the ATM's like the FX4.

I just assumed they were both crappy with how fast all the off-roady people change to aftermarket tires.

I won't argue that the Hankook ATM's aren't the best OffRoad tire as they are susceptible to punctures. As for regular street driving they have done well.

BFG All-Terrain T/As are pretty tough. I drove around with a 1/4" socket stuck in one of mine and I didn't even know it till I rolled down the window and heard it hitting the road.

Seems like if you had a bad bearing, you would hear lots of noise that changes with vehicle speed, and you'd probably have an oil leak at the axle seals.

Lmao I had the same on my rear right tire and never lost air pressure. Drove it for months without abs and spun that tire so much that it wore down the head of the bolt. Those ko2's were stout!

If you have that many miles on the tires, I would replace them first. So many times a weird noise or vibration comes from old, or high mileage tires.

I agree its time for new tires. I did verify the wheels are on the hub flush and verified the lugs are torqued to spec. Here's a video spinning the rear wheel. Is this normal?
