I'm NOT in a position to consider paying anything over MSRP but if I was, I'd definitely do it. How much money does one need when they die? Ok, a fair answer would be: enough to cover my funeral? Others want to leave a little something for others and that's fair too. You gotta make sure the wife and kids are taken care of, perhaps you have life insurance for that. BUT...Someone else here posted about enjoying life while you can and that is spot on. We all work hard for what we have and once you achieve a certain amount of financial security you can consider getting expensive things that you want. My Ranger isn't that fancy compared to other's but it's mine and it makes me very happy. I worked my butt off, putting everything and everyone else before me for years, drove the same truck for 23 years and then one day I realized that we had achieved a certain level and that it was MY TURN. So I was able to buy a new Ranger. Hard work pays off. If you're working hard, being careful, saving or whatever, and you find yourself in a position to get what you really want, so what if it's going to cost you a bit more. I say go for it. Rock out. You will not be worried about that extra 5k by the time...shit, by the time you plunk your lucky ass in that seat and drive it off the lot. You'll think you made the right choice and you'll be happy in life. That there is priceless, in my book. Other's don't feel the same way and that's cool too. We all have standards we live by. But your game with the dealer is excellent, you're willing to negotiate and you're not desperate. I can't wait to hear part two and I can't wait to hear you talk about how excited you are about getting a new factory fresh Ranger Raptor. Live the good life.
The idea of ADM is a simple concept to understand, simple supply and demand.
This is how it was when I bought our house. Except for the buyers themselves were offering more than list. This is how I see ADM on a unique, hard to get vehicle. A part of me thinks ADM IS bullshit but the dealers know that people will pay it. I guarantee you there is someone out there likely willing to pay 20 grand over MSRP, because they have the money and they want it that bad.
Good luck on your journey.
