Welp. Might as well add my name into the hat of recent Ranger 'incidents'. A few weeks ago, I hit up Home Depot on the way home from work to grab some sanding sheets for a bathroom painting project. Took all of 2 mins to run into the store and get back to my truck. I start backing up, nothing out of the ordinary. I see a truck coming from down the isle aways away in the back up camera so I proceed slowly so he sees me. After I stop to change into drive, the cross traffic starts going crazy but from the direction opposite the truck behind me. My brain kind of broke as I wasn't sure what it was talking about till I turned and looked to my left and see the back of a minivan was coming straight at my driver's door. Nothing I could do, I couldn't even hit the horn fast enough. *CRUNCH* The other driver was very apologetic and said they didn't see me, which is funny because not 48 hours earlier, I had commented this on another person's post:

April 2: "Nice thing about a bright vehicle around here is it's harder for the Snow Birds/Spring Breakers/Summer Vacationers/Fall Getawayers to miss you when they are looking for the turn to take you to clearwater beach."

2 weeks without my truck and a $3500 (before insurance) repair later, I've got a new door and a repaired rocker panel.

All for $3 worth of sanding sheets. Should have gone later that day.?

Glad you weren't injured. It's so easy to second guess yourself after the fact, I did and am still doing it.

I hope the guy who hit you paid your deductible? Otherwise, that's a pretty painful, "sorry I didn't see you"...not to mention the time it took for the repair...

Years ago, insurance companies charged more for red cars because they were involved in more accidents, as other drivers don't see them as well as other colors.

Sorry that happened. But if the other driver admitted fault, shouldn't his insurance pay for your damage?
I felt more comfortable going through my insurance from the start. They are working with the other insurance company to have them pay for the damage/deductible. Apparently the other driver is being 'uncooperative' now. Thankfully there was a witness who came over after the incident and told me he saw the whole thing.

Yikes. Sorry to see that and glad you are okay.

Well - it buffed out better than Dave’s truck.
I think Dave's truck just needs a little more elbow grease. I've seen worse buff out. ?
