A cursory glance on google says you guys have got a lot of options for delivery in Cleveland. I know the folks at work who handle sales and expanded delivery areas have a lot to consider. I can't say I've ever seen us leave an area though. If you're ever in Denver let me know, I'll get you the good stuff.
doubt I'll ever be back to Denver aka the Portland of Colorado. That's what happens when legalize and that turns into a vacuum and sucks in the users. Thanks for helping clean up Cleveland! I was using Modern Milkman but they cut their delivery territory in half. all the others just don't stack up to the service and offerings.

there are plenty questions to ask. is it a built motor or just plain jane? you can slap edelbrock on it all day but doesn't mean you have power. what's the rear end ratio? trans gear ratios? how quick? top speed? those are just the startof the list to narrow down a yes/no answer

I feel you. I don't go into Denver proper unless I HAVE to. The northern burbs are getting bad enough.

I've got a laundry list of those questions but I don't think anybody wants to spend an hour or two on the phone discussing their build with what they might perceive to be a tire kicker. Especially while trying to run a bodyshop.

My guess is that the motor is pretty mild the NV3500 transmission isn't the most stout for handling big power. Rear-end is another question, both ratio and limited slip? Betting it's an open diff off the donor S-10.

My current guess at the powertrain is that it probably makes the right noises, and is relatively quick, but not fast.

Ad is still up. Hopefully the boys play nicely tonight. If so I can be home and in bed early enough to get over there tomorrow.

Never paint it! That patina is worth big bucks and pretty popular with collectors.

Buy it now or regret not buying it forever. =)

Yesterday was dicey. Old lady seemed to be not with it at all.

Did some Jedi mind tricks. She's working from home today and when she heard I was awake but just lounging around she came and said "I thought you were looking at that truck today."

A bit of conversation about how there's no sense going to look without bringing the checkbook and while I wouldn't say the light is green, it's certainly yellow.

Proceeding with caution. First attempted contact to seller via text was just sent out.

Heard back from dude. He's free tomorrow afternoon/evening. Just so happens my brother-in-law and family will be over for Easter Supper tomorrow.

Since he's my resident mechanical/welding expert I think I'll be making him tag along with me.

Also, wife just popped in and said "if you buy that, any speeding tickets and I'm selling everything and buying you a minivan."

She's coming around folks.

Went this evening for a look-see.

Truck looks to be well built and mostly sorted. Dude has had it about 5 years, finished it a year ago. Truck has roughly 1000 miles on it since.

Needs a few tweaks, emergency brake cable needs installed. Maybe some wire routing to address.

Carb might need some tuning. Sounded great on the choke, but roughed up once off the choke.

Body is rough but very few holes. The money isn't there to ever make it pretty. Owl looks to be a decal.

Did not test drive as I'm not there just yet and didn't want to ask for a test drive without being ready to make an offer.

Gonna do some thinking tonight.

The main thing I'm trying to consider is the second thought buyout. How much am I possibly out if I decide to get out of it in a year. And am I comfortable with that number.

Could be a sales trick, but dude says he's got a guy checking it out Monday evening. Told me to think it over and get back to him tomorrow if I'm interested further.

Gonna play the devil's advocate here....personally, I wouldn't pay half of what he's asking for it.
It's just a put togather parts truck, but for 20 grand you could get into some much nicer, original, classic pick up trucks.
Just slapping an old body on a readily available cheap frame and a cheap V-8 dosen't make it a "hot rod".
It's strictly a "nice day" driver that's probably going to sit in your garage more than be used, and most likely will be throwing more money at it, money that you will never recover.
That truck is strictly a "buyers want", meaning if you do decide to sell it, you'll have to find a buyer who is specifically wanting a "rat rod" and is willing to pay for it.....don't think you'll ever get anywhere near your money back for it.
You have had 50 or so posts telling you to buy it, but it's real easy for someone else to tell you how to spend your $$$$$ .
For 20 grand you could do a lot nicer.....

This gives me great pause.

The fact that you didn't even want to drive it means that the reality was less than the perception.

JMO but I'd pass.

Yup, I initially said to go for it, but theat was based on pics. Seeing it in person would show so much more.
Making me feel like it was thrown together to make some money.

The owl decal speaks volumes. It's still a cool looking truck, one which I wouldn't mind owning, just not at that price.
You could always go back, kick the tires, go for a ride, spin the tires, and make an offer that you are comfortable with. Are you looking for a show truck, daily driver etc? If you are looking for a cool looking daily driver, that looks like one. Give an offer, provide reasons why you priced that way. They most likely will say no, but now they have something to base what they will accept, and if more people give the same opinion, they may reduce to a reasonable price. Like most prices out there, people are throwing stuff at a wall, seeing if it will stick. (there is an ass for every seat)

Also...
Put yourself in the position of your the owner, trying to sell it....
How would you present it as being worth $20 grand, as a "toy" ? What did you put into it that takes it from a "parts truck" to something that I would "want" to own ?
All that one is, is an old pick up with a V-8, that probably any of our currant Rangers could out perform.
You want a "hot rod", than buy one, buy an older muscle car, even spend the 20 grand and dump a Coyote into your Ranger, buy a short bed mid 80's Ford pick up and dump a a Coyote into it....lots you could do with 20 grand.
