Wondering if the $200 gap between the two is worth it?
I know there are a couple of post regarding the rear mount steps, but haven't really seen any good info regarding the RC bumper.
I hear that there are some fitment issues if your Ranger is equiped with the trailer hitch reciever.....

I have the Black Horse rear bumper with integrated steps and I wouldn't trade it for any of the steps.

No problems with hitch clearance and I added LED cubes for backup lights.

Here is is with a recovery ring in the hitch.

ouch ! 1 thousand dollars !!! best one ive seen though ...
I got it when it first came out. I think it was <$700 then.

How was installation?
Installation is several hours.

I was thinking that you unbolt the factory bumper then bolt on the new one.

In actuality, you have to disassemble the factory bumper to get to the "skeleton" of the bumper and then the new one bolts to that.

That's probably why this one has no issues with the factory hitch since it's using the factory bumper frame.

HERE is a link to the installation instructions.

Overall I really like it.

It's very heavy duty, I like the way it looks, and the steps are extremely handy.

EDIT: I found my original installation pics from June 2020 and I actually got it for <$600

Dang, how did I miss this post?

@Ibanezbass671 I couldn't tell if you made a decision and I'm also posting for anyone in the future.

Both look great but are, obviously different.

I like the TrekStep because I'm 5'6" and can't get in the bed graciously. I'd have to flop onto my belly on the open tailgate and roll into the bed and stand up. That's quite the site! =D

The bumper with step cutout would be too tall for me. =(

The TrekStep comes down enough to make it a manageable task for getting in and out of the bed. I use it often and it's incredibly secure. It's also top quality - 100% aluminum step with thick steel frame and pivot.

It is a job to install it, not hard, but you need the right tools (like 1/2" drive, deep socket, and decent extension - I used a 12" extension and cheater bar). I did mine when my truck was only a month old, so the bed bolt was not too bad to remove. I did hassle with setting the height I wanted after I installed it. It would have been far easier to set that before installing it!

The TrekStep is an add-on that would be hard for me to live without.

My installation and lots of pics at how it sits.

The bumper is very cool and certainly sportier looking. The step is very utilitarian, imo.

Whichever floats your boat is the one to get, just sharing my experience. Good luck!

I have the TrekStep and love it. I feel it splits the difference between the ground and the tailgate better than any of the bumper steps. Also easier to see when using it to get down. I also like how it folds up close to the bumper unlike the DeeZee step which is always sticking down. Maybe an issue for you off readers. As was said, no right or wrong choice, just personal preference.

Oh, one last thing. It was my only mod that got immediate approval from my 5'-0" vertically challenged better half.

Hey Subquark, can you get a side pic and measurement from the bottom of your bed to top of your step?
