Spotted this on the internet today:
Reliable Used Truck: 2020 Ford Ranger – Reliability Score: 3/5
The Ranger has returned above-average reliability ratings since Ford redesigned the current model in 2019. Pricing for the 2020 Ford Ranger on the used car market now ranges from $24,000 to $36,000.

Although there were four recalls for the truck, it returned a perfect 5/5 reliability score for the most critical trouble spots, including the engine and engine cooling. It also posted a well-above-average score of 4/5 for the transmission and drivetrain system.

Interesting that it has a 4/5 score for the transmission and drivetrain system. I guess the writer does not visit here often.

Well our little group here represents a very small number of actual Ranger owners, not enough to hold any real sway in a report like this.

What 4 recalls, did I miss something?
2 of the recalls were for specific dates/years....one for some seatbelts on Scabs that were improperly installed and one for Scabs rear headrests that were changed out from rigid to foldable for childseat anchor problems.

I'm of the trouble free ilk. But, I purchased the truck with 8k on the odometer, there were 2 warranty work orders when I got it.

But, I agree that most people only post when something goes wrong. And really why wouldn't they? You don't usually need advice or condolences when all you do is feed the thing gas and rubber and it delivers you everywhere you want to go.

Hi Ben,

Exactly what I tried to do with 4G Rangers and for the most part succeeded as the 4G seem to be everywhere still going strong...

Best,
Phil

I still see many every day and this is the rust belt. Tacomas, on the other hand, have disappeared with their rusted frames

Phil: I drive a 4G at work and it has over 130K and still going strong. I was given a choice between an Explorer and the 4G Ranger and without hesitation chose the 4G

i think at some point in the not too distant future the 4g rangers will be at that highly praised and wanted stage as more realize they are super durable / dependable and inexpensive to keep up.
