When I installed my B&M trans dipstick I found it was much easier to access the OE dipstick via the passenger side wheel well.
If you remove the rubber splash guard like you do for the oil filter and crank the steering all the way over you can see and access the dipstick from the side. Bit of a reach, but much easier than trying to snake your arm up thru the exhaust.
Where did you buy your B&M dipstick, Steve?

I bought it thru Amazon. It's pretty much $250 no matter where you buy it, but I have free shipping (Prime) and we had a bunch of reward $$$ I used.

It confounds me there isn't some alternative for our trucks. I see all kinds of flexible 'universal' trans dip sticks and while I understand the $250 one isn't absolutely plug n' play it just feels like after R&D a dedicated accessory with a rigid tube would cost maybe $60 in materials to produce in any reasonable numbers. If you sold them for double that you'd still be half the price.

It would be a useful accessory for @Boomba Racing to actually sell.

Trust me...I searched many web sites looking for an alternative. Several other companies make trans dipsticks, TransDapt, Lokar, ect, but none make a dipstick with the fittings that fit the Ford.
You would think that there would be others as the same trans has/is used in Ford F-150 and Rangers, for several years.
NOPE....B&M is the only one.

Yeah...if you get an Amazon Visa and use it to purchase stuff on Amazon, you earn "reward points" which translates to cash. If you buy a lot of stuff on Amazon (we do) it adds up and you can apply it to purchases.
We got a card years ago, but only use it on Amazon...paid monthly so no interest fees for us.
It's listed as an Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card.

I know many are down on Amazon, but they carry/have many many items I need/want for our travel trailer and yes, the Ranger, that are just not available near me, and in most cases the items are less expensive for the same items else ware. If items were available locally, I'd get them locally.

I know we truck people rag on you guys a little for some of the bling and I hope you take it in stride.

Seriously though this may be a prime opportunity to capitalize on our forum's interest ?

Count me in for one...many of us use cold method because of the hot exhaust hazard that's a guess at best...I'm not even sure the shop can properly do a hot check facing the same hazards definitely would invest in an under hood dipstick for the 10R80...
