Having to wait 7y (67) to retirement stinks but it gives me some time to gauge the direction and assumptions in the current inflation. Having to wait stinks but getting to wait allows some planning and tweaking.

Congrats on your life decision and may you be able to fully enjoy it. I am jealous I can't hang up my keyboard just yet.

Thanks, we can start hanging out at Tim Hortons all day when your time comes.
Oh God, coffee, that will keep me awake! I'd rather stay comatose, makes the day easier.

They shouldn't knock denim shorts, they are comfortable.
They are and I only wear them in the winter here. It's to hot (for me anyway) during the summers to wear them and I bought several pairs of these. They're very thin but super comfortable and moisture wicking. I originally bought them for hiking but wear them all the time now. They even have a long pant version too.

I like the COSTCO pants with zipper to make shorts. Also
they have winter ones, no zipper, good for -20c.

Thanks Duke! I knew I was doing it wrong! Great idea!
And Congratulations! It's a little while coming, but the mindset shift from working for someone else's dreams to accomplishing your own (and your family's) dreams is a good one. Many blessings and long life to you.

And wear carpenter shorts if you want. You've earned the right.
They come in other colors besides denim...
Thanks Dave - the dream’s already coming true. :)

If you see me in carpenter shorts, it’ll probably be this version…

I may or may not have owned a pair of those at some point in my life…

I may also have had more hair. :(

Retired, work is a four letter word.
Congratulations Duke! Enjoy the good life. I retired for the second time at 57, 17 years ago, love it. A tip for you, stay OFF the couch and keep busy and moving and you will live a long life.

Thanks Jesse - for crying out loud, where were you four hours ago? I’ve been on the darn thing since breakfast! ;)

Happy retirement Duke! If you need to make sure those tools stay in use now, you can send them down to Texas ?âš’??
Thanks Connor - I’m sure they’ll still get their fair share of use but I’ll keep you in mind. :D
