vague warnings honestly aren't good enough. if they're not going to tell you the exact day they're going to be working so you know what to expect, then they did not do their due diligence to notify you. take it up with the painting company's insurance and make them actually pay to make your truck right. maybe they'll learn for next time.Sorry, just got to the hotel in L.A. and saw all this. First, I want to say thank you. I was pretty annoyed the entire trip here thinking about my truck but itās awesome to know thereās a community out there that cares and wants to help. Second, itās not an HOA, I rent for what itās worth, so their rules. They gave us somewhat of a vague warning we just didnāt know what day exactly they were coming. So, I guess, that could be on me except I really didnāt know where to have my truck parked where it would be safe or when. They were blocks away in the morning and seem to be skipping around with the painting for whatever reason. I just wish they would have knocked. My front door is right by the carport.
Yeah, wow. What a nightmare.vague warnings honestly aren't good enough. if they're not going to tell you the exact day they're going to be working so you know what to expect, then they did not do their due diligence to notify you. take it up with the painting company's insurance and make them actually pay to make your truck right. maybe they'll learn for next time.
I get notices when my water company is doing work and there will be sediment in the water lines that I need to flush from my hose bib and maybe flush my water heater and clean my faucet strainers. I get notices from other utility companies working in the area if they're going to dig up my yard. usually just a mailer, but still.
water company in a different city failed to give any notice, so I had no idea about the incoming slug of sediment from a water main repair. which clogged my faucet strainers and caused multiple water line ruptures in my house. THAT was infuriating.

I don't mind if they don't notify if the work itself doesn't carry a risk of harm to myself or damage to my property.Hi, MBNate,
Our Hoa permits utilities unlimited access between lots without notice to the homeowner. Four or five times a year we get Southwest Gas searching for gas leaks in our side yard. They found a leak in our neighbor's house while they were away to their house in Kronach Germany as they are from Germany. I do not mind as they are decked out in Southwest Gas garb.
On painting...this is way over the top to not notify the homeowner, even as a friend and neighbor.
Good news is that latex cleans up completely with alcohol.
best,
Phil

Its sucks that kinda thing happens. But I was more shocked by the statement "My neighborhood started painting my house"Big test today. Hoping for good things from the 303 Graphene. My neighborhood started painting my house and without a knock on the door, painted the carport. They covered the truck but I would have been MORE than happy to move it. No idea they were coming today. Happy overspray day. Just venting. Bad words. Itās the spot that looks like this ?. He has many friends.![]()
yep, definitely go after the painters' insurance company to make you wholeIt happened again. They were gone for a week and came back to finish it off I guess. White this time, so, I guess thatās fun. I havenāt really been on here much since this first happened, not the truckās fault but not really feeling like looking at it anymore. No knock or doorbell. Iāll be drinking.
I want to but honestly it did come off the first time. It took some work - I washed and clayed and graphened, but it did come out. I can either do it again or deal with insurance from a company contracted through my rental community with people who donāt really understand English and find a bodyshop or whatever. Seriously, it just sounds more painful then spending a Saturday with my truck. I guess I just wanted to complain into the wind. So, thanks for letting me do that. Maybe Iāll set up a system of bells on ropes around my truck. I miss that feeling of wanting to look at my truck.yep, definitely go after the painters' insurance company to make you whole
I mean honestly, how is the paint company going to know they screwed up if someone doesn't tell them? they can't fix something if they don't know there's a problem. and if the rental community ppl know there's a problem, they can either hire a different paint company next time or hold the company's feet to the fire about protecting residents' property.I want to but honestly it did come off the first time.
