We have the Eufy S330 wireless outside cameras, the resolution and night mode are awesome.
That is one of the features I like about the Eufy video doorbell...clear resolution anytime. Do you have the doorbell with your system?

I probably don't need a system to let me know if someone is getting inside but mainly who is outside and what they are doing...have wrought iron bars on the doors and windows and also a fence in front with a locking wrought iron gate. A strong deterrent but still nothing is foolproof.
I know what you mean about crime in your state...Albuquerque is one of the highest crime areas in the US. The reason is that drugs are running from the border and our city is a main distribution point creating a lot of gang activity, shootings and all the above that you mention. You have to watch your back every minute if you live here. Criminals go thru the revolving door. Would appreciate the link from Android Central if you have it.

Hi Rob,

I had Netgear prior system that they dumped for Arlo....Cost me quite a bit to update and I will no longer consider Netgear for any of my electronics etc. I went with Blink and find it to be very satisfactory. I first needed a camera system when someone (I think Neighborhood owner) tried to steal Tito, my tortoise). Understand that she was going to take him out into the desert and release him as it was so terrible to have him captive.... It would have killed him as he has very poor skills to forage for food. She was informed that the fine for such stupid action was $750 and one year in jail. By Airzona law a captive tortoise must remain captive for its entire life. This is to stop the spread of virus like have destroyed the Mojave Tortoise population in California...AZ Game and Fish department oversees the wild desert tortoise population.

Best,
Phil

I looked at that before going with SimpliSafe. The Eufy cameras have or had an issue with spying on you pretty easily, and even Android Central says to avoid them them now. When the steel shutter opens on the SimpliSafe cameras, you'll hear it, no matter where you are in the house.

And no kidding, 2 weeks after I bought and installed my setup, someone popped my back door while I was at work and it got them on camera as soon as the door sensor triggered. Once the siren went off, they ran. Cops were there in 3 minutes and I shared the footage with them via SimpliSafe. SimpliSafe also called me within 15 seconds according to timestamps. (I saw the dude running off, live) Cops caught someone who looked like the guy but the shots were taken through a partially-open vertical blind, clear across the house. Dude ultimately got released. Now I have my yard sign up, and stickers on the easily accessible windows. I'm also looking at an outdoor camera to put on my deck. That would have got a very clean shot of his approach. He's lucky I wasn't home because it's off when I'm home. I AM the alarm system when home and the SimpliSafe sensors sound a 2-tone chime whenever a door or window is opened, even when the system is off. That will trigger MY sensor which sounds eerily like a .45, 9mm, mossberg, or AR15 being charged, depending on where I'm at in the house.

My area is starting to get pretty bad. Burglaries, stolen cars, drugs, homeless, etc. If you steal a car in Colorado and get caught, it's probation the first time. It's a very nice risk/reward situation since they only catch 3% of them. It then emboldens them to move on to houses. My doorbell cam (Nest) picks up people looking directly at it most nights now as they shuffle on up the street in search of easier prey.
Please read up on Colorado’s Castle Doctrine so you’re not the one facing expensive legal issues.

I had the single cam EUFY doorbell (wired) for a few years until It died. Opted for this 2 camera Eufy one last year, i like that it's a stand alone no monthly fee built in recorder. I do like the single cams sensitivity adjustments better, we have 2 stray cats we feed and sometimes the double (current cam) doesn't trigger the recorder like the single one did. I have another camera that I can check from a diff angle.

The link below is to the eufy site and if you scroll down there is a $40 off coupon code. Mention my name and I allegedly get a $40 credit

Mike,
I have the battery Video doorbell and was going to purchase a cam but decided to wait. Will refer you when I get it. I got this system because it had high reviews and like you say no subscription. Have you had any security issues?

No security issues. A few years before I retired (after we got married and wife moved in) I was still on nights for 12 hours so it gave her a sense of security when I wasn't home at night. Plus I could not only drive by I could look at the cameras if needed. Didn't see the sense in an alarm when cameras all around worked. Why pay a fee when Ithas a built in storage that can record for days before over writing. If needed I can download and save before its overwritten. The other system has multiple cameras plus wifi cameras that draw power plugged in. The last thing I wanna do is change batteries when I'm older.

The top camera is 2k, bottom one to watch packages is 1080p. This screen shot yesterday with a FedEx delivery shows the package 1080p camera quality well.

Phil,
Glad that Tito was spared!

I'm with you on Netgear products...no more business from me. I have a Netgear C3700 Modem/Router. This came with only a 3-month tech support plan. When you are out of this cycle, they will hit you with outrageous fees for any service without exception. On 04/18/21, I tried to change my Admin password and couldn't because of a glitch in their system. There was a potential security issue, so it had to be changed. I called in and they refused to help me without paying a fee even though it was a problem with their software  It is unheard of to charge a customer for changing a username or password...most organizations are glad to provide this service for no cost because it protects them as well as the customer. So, I'm ditching their products and going with a different brand when this one goes.
